Day 2 of $888 Crazy Eights No-Limit Hold’em Begins at Noon
With four Day 1 flights completed, Day 2 of Event #64: $888 Crazy Eights No-Limit Hold’em is set to commence, with the restart scheduled for today at 12 p.m. The original field of 10,185 entries has trimmed down to 1,223, and those players come back today as the tournament continues to play toward the $888,888 first prize.
The field will play through 10 one-hour levels today, with 15-minute breaks after every two levels and a dinner break after the sixth level. Play resumes at Level 20, with the blinds at 6,000/12,000 and a 12,000 big blind ante..
The four end-of-day chip leaders from the four Day 1 flights return at the top of the leaderboard as combined survivors of those flights come back today for Day 2. Luis Pinho (1,419,000), Michael Kane (1,360,000), Arsenii Karmatckii (1,323,000) and Ian Simpson (1,284,000) lead the pack, and are four of a total of 17 players that start today’s play with a 1-million-plus chip stack.
WSOP bracelet winners Chance Kornuth (979,000), Ryan Leng (839,000) and Mark Radoja (717,000) are in the hunt, as well as Josh Arieh (700,000), who’s coming off a runner-up finish in the $50,000 Poker Players Championship. Greg Merson (598,000), the 2012 Main Event champion, is also still in the mix.
The 1,223 remaining players are already in the money, at have at least a guaranteed min-cash of $1,500 awaiting at the payout window.
