Mercini's Kings Cracked

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

A player opened to 25,000 and Satoshi Tanaka moved all in for 250,000 from the button. Peter Mercini three-bet all in from the big blind and the original raiser folded.

Satoshi Tanaka: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Peter Mercini: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Mercini had picked up a big blind special, but the {a-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs} gave a pair and a flush draw to Tanaka and left Mercini drawing to a single out. The {j-Diamonds} turn and {3-Spades} river did not help him. After a quick count, he was covered by just 25,000 chips and Mercini was eliminated.

Moncek Joins the Big Stacks

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

There was a three-way all in involving Michael Moncek, Terry Gillespie and Matthew Diethelm.

Michael Moncek: {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Matthew Diethelm: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Terry Gillespie: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}

"I'm officially using my one time dealer," said Gillespie as the {a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop gave him a pair. He was the short stack with 125,000 with Diethelm slightly ahead of him with 135,000.

The turn was the {3-Diamonds} but the river {q-Diamonds} gave Moncek a set and sent both opponents to the rail.

"Nice hand," said Gillespie graciously as both he and Diethelm exited the tournament area.
