Arstad Cuts the Cord

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Cord Garcia (pictured in another event)
Cord Garcia (pictured in another event)

Cord Garcia was getting up from his seat after committing the last of his chips and ending up with less than the best hand, showing {j-Hearts}{9-Clubs} on a board of {k-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{q-Spades}.

The winning hand was that of Christian Arstad, who had {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, good for a full house.

According to Arstad, there was a raise and a few calls before he came along on the button. Garcia called in the small blind and action went five ways to the flop, where Garcia led out with a bet for the rest of his chips. Another player called before Arstad but folded before showdown as Arstad scooped in the entire pot, adding nicely to his stack.

Hughes Sends Tekle Home

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

There was 20,000 in the pot on a flop of {2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} and Davis Aalvik checked from the big blind, as did Ryan Hughes from middle position. Tesfaldet Tekle bet 12,000 from the cutoff and Aalvik called.

Hughes then announced a raise of 68,000 and Tekle called. Aalvik quickly folded, making the pot heads up.

The turn fell {a-Diamonds} and Hughes put in enough chips to put Tekle all in. Tekle called.

"Anything good?" Tekle asked.

"Pair and flush draw," responded Hughes as he tabled {q-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}.

"Oh, you got me," said Tekle, showing {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

The river fell {8-Clubs} to complete the unnecessary flush for Hughes as he wished Tekle a good game and raked in the pot.

Bronstein Rivers a Boat

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

On the turn with the board reading {k-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts} there was about 8,000 in the pot, Talesh Patel bet out 6,000 and Noah Bronstein called.

The {9-Clubs} fell on the river and Patel led again, this time for 10,000. Bronstein didn't take much time to throw in two 5,000 chips to make the call. Patel tabled {j-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for trip tens, and Bronstein showed {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} for nines full of tens.

Pair of Tens Good for Stowell

Level 12 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

David Lambard raised in the hijack to 5,000, Nicholas Stowell called in the small blind and Esther Taylor defended her big blind.

All three players checked on the {9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop to see the {10-Hearts} on the turn. After Stowell checked Taylor bet out 7,300, Lambard folded and Stowell called.

The river was the {6-Diamonds} and they both checked. Stowell tabled {q-Spades}{10-Spades} for a pair of tens and Taylor mucked.
