Godfrey's Overpair is Good

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A lighthearted chatty hand was taking place as Christopher Godfrey called the 10,000 bet from his opponent Masatoshi Fujimori with a pot of about 23,000 already in the middle. The board was double paired and read {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

The two players went to the river as it came the {6-Hearts}. Fujimori checked and Godfrey turned over {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} which was good enough to take the pot.

Scholl Doubles Without Looking

Level 9 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Lawrence Scholl was all in preflop and claimed that he did not even look at his cards before moving all in. His opponent showed {a-}{5-} and Scholl flipped over {8-}{5-}.

The flop would be good to Scholl as it came {6-}{7-}{8-}. "Good chance for a chop" said Scholl but the turn and river {j-}{q-} confirmed the double up for Scholl.

Posey Leaves Reard With Crumbs

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante

The board read {3-Spades}{a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} and Alexandre Reard's losing hand of {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} was showing having gone down in flames to the {a-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} nut flush of George Posey. Reard got up to walk away but it was counted out to determine that he still had 4,500 left.

Liu Powers Out Blumenfield

Level 7 : 300/600, 600 ante
Sasha Liu (In a previous Event)

On the turn, the board read {5-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Sasha Liu bet 12,000 and was called by Neil Blumenfield after he thought for a few moments.

The river was the {2-Spades}. Liu waited for about 15 seconds before putting a stack of the big chips into the middle to force Blumenfield all in and he swiftly got out the way as he tossed his cards to the dealer before Liu could take her hand off the chips she put forward.
