Kreft Puts the Hurt on Zuccarello

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Cero Zuccarello and Marcin Kreft each put 6,000 chips into a growing pot on a board reading {3-Spades}{q-Spades}{k-Hearts}{4-Spades}.

The river brought the {6-Hearts}, Zuccarello checked from the hijack, and Kreft put out a bet for 12,700. Zuccarello tanked for a bit, then mucked his cards suddenly.

"That one hurt," a clearly frustrated Zuccarello lamented.

Picking up the action after a flop of {k-Spades}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts} with about 6,000 in the pot, Chino Rheem checked from the under the gun and the player in the hijack bet 2,500. Rheem called.

The turn was the {a-Hearts}, Rheem checked, his opponent bet 5,000, Rheem check-raised to 16,800 and his opponent called.

The river was the {8-Diamonds}, Rheem shoved for effectively 66,000 and his opponent tanked for a while.

"Will you show if I call?" asked Rheem's opponent.

"I'll absolutely show if you call. I'll show if you fold, too, but you'll owe me a show," said Rheem.

After a few moments, Rheem's opponent open folded {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}.

"I put you on ace-king," Rheem said as he showed {5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. "Felt like I could get you off of it."

Bounahra Lets it Go

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Amal Bounahra opened to 1,200 on the cutoff and was called by the button before the big blind raised it up to 4,200. Both players called preflop but immediately folded to a continuation bet on the flop. Bounahra is still up a little on the day so far after that loss.

Tang Joins the Main Event

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Danny Tang just joined the Main Event. He finished in 31st position last year at the 2018 World Series of Poker. He cashed for over $230,000 for his then second and now third biggest cash. It still is his biggest cash on American soil and he has another shot at improving on that score and last year's performance.

Assorted Brasilia Blue and Silver Chip Counts

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Buchanan Binks Turn

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Chad Bradbury raised to 1,200 under the gun and small blind Shawn Buchanan was his only caller.

Buchanan checked to Bradbury on {2-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Bradbury bet 2,600. Buchanan check-raised to 7,000 and Bradbury called.

The {5-Diamonds} landed on the turn and both players checked.

Buchanan fired 11,600 on the {8-Spades} river and Bradbury convinced himself to call.

Buchanan flipped the {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs} for a turned set and Bradbury mucked his hand.

"Nice turn," Bradbury observed.

Predicting the Flop

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Tony Miles apparently called for a flop of ten-ten-deuce for his opponent in a heads up pot vs David Carleton. The dealer spread the flop {2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds} to make a Nostradamus out of Miles as the table reacted with astonishment and Carleton gave Mils a fist bump.

Carleton then bet 1,200. "You're going to lead into me after I call the flop?" said Miles before calling. The turn was the {7-Diamonds}. Carleton bet again for 2,500 and Miles quickly folded.

Plens Scores Double Through Luther

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante
Nikita Luther
Nikita Luther

With around 10,000 in the middle and the flop reading {10-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Hearts}, Nikita Luther checked from the big blind to Jonathan Plens in the cutoff.

Plens bet 4,500, and Luther called as the {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn.

Luther checked, and Plens bet 12,000. Luther check-raised to 33,000, and Plens announced he was all in for 67,300 total.

Luther called and tabled her {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} to be drawing dead against Plens' {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} for a full house.

The river landed the meaningless {4-Hearts}, and Plens secured the double to contend with the chip leaders.

Ngo is Nemeth's Nemesis

Level 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

With a decent amount of chips already in the middle, Bryan Ngo checked in middle position on a board showing {2-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{a-Spades}{4-Spades}. Andras Nemeth checked back on the button bringing a {j-Spades} on the river.

The action checked through again, and Ngo showed down {a-Clubs}{10-Clubs}, taking down the pot with his top pair.
