Dizenzo Tries to Lay the Trap

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Daniel Dizenzo opened to 3,500 in middle position and the button three-bet to 12,500. The blinds folded and Dizenzo just called to see a flop of {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}.

Dizenzo checked to his opponent who continued for 10,000 and Dizenzo called. The turn brought the {6-Hearts} and both players checked to the {a-Diamonds} on the river. Dizenzo checked once more and his opponent checked it back. Dizenzo turned over {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} for a full house and his opponent mucked.

Also at the table is JC Tran who lost a large pot to Loyal Sprague before the dinner break. "They're just on loan," Tran said with a laugh as Sprague has just under 500,000 chips in front of him.

Vang and Yahyaei Felted

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante
Majid Yahyaei, in an earlier event.
Majid Yahyaei, in an earlier event.

Action folded to Majid Yahyaei in the small blind and he made it 4,000. Josh Kay reraised to 11,500 in the big and Yahyaei responded with an all-in shove for about 40,000. Kay quickly called with {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and Yahyaei was in big trouble with {9-Spades}{9-Clubs}.

The {5-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{j-Clubs} board opened up a few outs for Yahyaei with a straight draw but the {4-Hearts} river was a brick.

At the neighboring table, Kou Vang got his remaining 18,000 or so in from the hijack only to run into the {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} held by the big blind. Vang had two outs as well with {6-Spades}{6-Diamonds} but none appeared on the {2-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} community. He wished everyone good luck and headed out.

Franco Spitale
Franco Spitale

Three-way to the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop with more than 19,000 each invested, Franco Spitale bet 20,000 out of the big blind and Yervand Boyadjian called in late position, Pierre Merlin folded on the button. The {9-Diamonds} on the turn was checked and Spitale bet the {5-Clubs} river for 52,000 and that sent Boyadjian into the think tank.

He talked through possible hands and eventually made the call after stacking his remaining chips in 20s. Spitale rolled over {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and that won the pot.

Hudson's Kings Hold Strong

Level 9 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Action had checked to David "ODB" Baker on a {10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Clubs} flop, and he bet 16,000 into a pot of 50,000. Mario Hudson check-raised to 34,000 from middle position, the hijack called, and Baker tanked for about a minute before folding.

Hudson checked the {4-Diamonds} turn, and the hijack bet 42,300. Hudson snap-called, leaving himself about 100,000 behind.

On the {j-Clubs} river, Hudson checked again, and the hijack tanked for a few minutes before checking behind. Hudson tabled {k-Hearts}{k-Spades} and his opponent mucked.

"I was waiting! I wasn't going nowhere." Hudson said as he stacked up his new chips.

On the {5-Hearts} turn, Iemmito checked and called 12,000. He then came out betting on the {6-Hearts} river with 15,500. Pillai called right away and his {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} prevailed over {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}.
