Nick Pupillo
Nick Pupillo

There was 6,600 in the pot going three ways to a flop of {j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Glen Freestone checked from the big blind, a player in early position also checked, and Nick Pupillo bet 2,800. Freestone called and the third player in the hand folded.

The turn came {9-Spades} and both players checked. The river of {7-Spades} fell and Glenstone announced a bet of 7,000 as he put in an orange T$5,000 chip and two yellow T$1,000 chips. Pupillo thought for about 35 seconds and then pushed his cards forward to the muck.

Chang Times Out

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

With {7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} in the middle, Chris Hunichen shoved from the small blind. There was about 60,000 in the pot, so it was a slight overbet of 75,500 to Jeffrey Chang in the cutoff. He went deep into the tank, thinking for three minutes or so.

"One more minute," he requested.

After about a minute, someone called a clock, which Chang wasn't thrilled with. The tournament director gave him 30 seconds and he protested that it was for all of his chips. The TD said he was sorry but someone had called a clock and said clock was ticking. Chang flicked his cards in at the buzzer and continued to voice his displeasure.

Kowal Sends One Out

Level 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

According to the chatter at the table, the player under the gun flatter along with the player from one seat over, the player in middle position, the cutoff and the hijack. Graydon Kowal, in the small blind, raised to 7,000. The player under the gun and the player in middle position were the only ones to stick around with a call.

The dealer spread a flop of {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}. Kowal bet 10,000 and the player under the gun raised to 20,000. The player in middle position folded and Kowal responded by moving all in for about 145,000. His opponent called, putting his tournament life - and around 90,000 chips - at risk.

Opponent: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Graydon Kowal: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The player under the gun had flopped trip aces but Kowal had flopped aces full of queens.

The turn and river were a blank and Kowal took down the pot, ending his opponent's Main Event.

Julie Dang doubled through Thomas Pomponio when her {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} held up against {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} on a {8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{8-Spades}{3-Spades} board.

A few minutes later, Pomponio jammed his last 10,100 and was called by Murat Kilic in the hijack and Larry Ross on the button. The two remaining active players checked down the {j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{k-Hearts} board and Pomponio tabled {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a straight, Kilic mucked {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and Ross tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}.
