Mills Takes Down Huge Pot to Leave Nguyen on Crumbs

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante
Sean Mills
Sean Mills

Qui Nguyen and Sean Mills were heads up going to a flop of {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Nguyen led out from early position and Mills just called from the cutoff to see the {10-Spades} on the turn.

Nguyen fired out another bet of 95,000 on the turn and Mills raised to 355,000. Nguyen called and the {6-Diamonds} completed the board. Nguyen checked this time and Mills shoved all in for 1,279,000. Nguyen asked for a count and eventually made the call.

Mills tabled {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} for a set of deuces while Nguyen held {k-Spades}{k-Clubs} for an overpair. Nguyen was down to just 54,000 after that hand but managed to triple his stack in the next hand. He still has plenty of work to do in order to climb back into the tournament.

Ward Doubles; Gives Some to Wendlandt

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

Ross Ward was spotted celebrating with his rail after he had just doubled. The cards were still tabled as his {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs} topped the {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} of an opponent on a board of {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Hearts} to see Ward jump over one million in chips.

Soon after, Ward defended his big blind against a button raise by Henning Wendlandt and check-called a bet of 40,000 on the {j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{8-Hearts} turn. On the {5-Diamonds} river, Ward check-called another 100,000 and mucked when Wendlandt tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for jacks and eights.

Parkes Wins With River Bet

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

There was around 150,000 in the pot on the turn with a board of {3-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and Joseph Cheong had a bet out of 125,000 from the cutoff. Thomas Parkes was in the big blind and put in a check-raise to 325,000. Cheong made the call.

The river fell {6-Diamonds} and Parkes put out a bet. Cheong asked for a count and it was totaled to be 690,000. After a few moments of consideration, Cheong slid his cards forward, giving up his contention for the hand in the process as Parkes watched the dealer slide the pot his way.

Ajayi Building His Stack

Level 19 : 8,000/16,000, 16,000 ante

A player raised to 35,000 from under the gun and Adedapo Ajayi three-bet to 90,000 from middle position. Action folded back around and the original opener called.

The flop fell {3-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{7-Hearts} and the under-the-gun player checked. Ajayi made a continuation-bet of 75,000 and was called.

The turn came {10-Hearts} and Ajayi was checked to again. He fired 200,000 into the middle and got a fold after a few moments, taking down the pot and building his stack closer to the three million-mark.

The board came {a-Hearts}{2-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} and the last remaining former champion was eliminated shortly before the last break of the day.
