Gordon Fades Heaps to Double Through Cohen

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Jonathan Cohen opened for 125,000 in middle position, a player on the button called and Joshua Gordon pushed it all in from the small blind for 865,000. Cohen reshoved to isolate and tabled {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Gordon had him beat with {a-Hearts}{k-Spades} but saw an ugly {j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} flop hit to leave him fading a world of outs. The {2-Spades} turn and {a-Clubs} river were clean for him to double, though.

Parrott Jams Twice

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Steven Parrott has moved all in twice in quick succession. First, he faced a raise to 130,000 and a call by Hossein Ensan before moving all in and forcing folds. In the second hand, it was a single raise to 130,000 and he jammed once more to chip up without showdown.

Last Break of the Night

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Joe Hachem arrives with pizza for the players
Joe Hachem arrives with pizza for the players

The clock has struck the midnight hour at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino and the players in the Main Event have been sent on another break. This will be their last 15-minute break of the evening as the cameras have been turned off for the night. There is still 38:00 remaining in the fifth level of the night with 125 players still in the field.

When the players return to their seats, they will finish out this level and play half (60 minutes) of the next level before the bagging and tagging process begins. Here is a look at what happened recently:

Bonding Takes Pot Before Break

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Lars Bonding raised to 140,000 in the hijack and Antonio Esfandiari three-bet to 325,000 on the button, which was called by Garry Gates in the small blind and initial raiser Bonding. The flop brought {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{3-Hearts} and all three players checked. Gates checked the {k-Spades} turn and a bet of 425,000 by Bonding won the last pot before the break.

Below are the updated chip counts of the main and secondary feature table.

Dewitt Toasted

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Jeffrey Dewitt shipped his last 350,000 into the middle from under the gun and was called by Carlos Guerrero in middle position. Action then folded around to Pim Gieles in the small blind who shoved for 2.7 million.

Guerrero asked for a count to confirm how much and proceeded to go into the tank for over four minutes. Eventually, he called clock on himself. As soon as the word clock was audible, Jeff Madsen mentioned he wanted to call a clock with a smile on his face.

A floor man was standing right at the table and stated that because Madsen also called clock, the full 30 seconds would be allotted for Guerrero's decision as opposed to the 10 seconds a player gets should they call the clock on themselves. Guerrero used the whole 30 seconds before deciding to let his hand go, making it time for the other two players to turn their hands up and run the community cards.

Jeffrey Dewitt: {a-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}
Pim Gieles: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{j-Hearts} without any sweat for Giles, sealing Dewitt's fate with less than two hours of play left in the night.

Su Vaults Into the Lead After Flopping Broadway

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Timothy Su
Timothy Su

There was around 500,000 in the pot on a board reading {k-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} with Timothy Su and Andrew Brokos heads-up. They each stuck in an additional 560,000 on the turn and the {5-Diamonds} completed the board.

Brokos checked from the big blind and Su slid out a bet of 2,030,000 in the hijack. Brokos dipped into the tank for about two minutes before finally making the call. Su turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for Broadway and Brokos was forced to muck his cards.

Cai Retires Seymour from 2019 Main Event

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
Richard Seymour
Richard Seymour

Richard Seymour moved all in from the button for 725,000. Small blind Zhen Cai called and action was on Anuj Agarwal in the big. He tanked a couple of minutes then announced all in. Cai had about 2 million more that he quickly called off.

Richard Seymour: {k-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}
Zhen Cai: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Anuj Agarwal: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

The {2-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{k-Clubs} flop pulled Seymour well in front, but his equity surge was short-lived as Cai pumped his fist when the {q-Spades} hit on the turn, locking up the pot for him. Seymour found useless trips on the {k-Spades} river and took his leave.

Marinelli Eliminated by Boning

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Lars Bonding raised to 140,000 in the hijack and Dario Marinelli jammed for the last 835,000 in the small blind, which Bonding quickly called.

Dario Marinelli: {10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}
Lars Bonding: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop changed nothing whatsoever, and Marinelli's Main Event run came to an end as soon as the {k-Hearts} hit the turn. The meaningless {a-Diamonds} river completed the board and Marinelli headed to the payout desk.
