Level 3 : 75/150, 15 ante
Anthony Spinella
Anthony Spinella

Jeff "NedrudRelyt" Madsen opened under the gun for 300, Raman "Acrogum" Afanasenka called from middle position and Anthony "nowb3athat" Spinella three-bet to 1,600 from the hijack.

Action folded back around to Madsen who called while Afanasenka four-bet to 5,870 and he was only called by Spinella.

The flop came {q-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, Afanasenka continued for 3,450 and Spinella called to see the board pair with the {q-Clubs} on the turn.

Both players checked to the {7-Hearts} river and Afanasenka check-called Spinella's 5,500 bet.

Spinella rolled over the nuts holding {q-Spades}{q-Hearts} and Afanasenka mucked his hand.

Weiss vs. Wood

Level 3 : 75/150, 15 ante

Matthew "Martycohen" Weiss raised to 300 from the cutoff and Brian "pure__reason" Wood defended his big blind to see an {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} flop.

Wood check-called a bet of 360 and then action went check-check on the {j-Spades} turn.

Action repeated itself on the {6-Diamonds} river and Wood showed the {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a pair of kings. It was no good though as Weiss had the {a-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a winning pair of aces.

Konnikova with the Check Raise

Level 4 : 100/200, 20 ante
Maria Konnikova
Maria Konnikova

Champie "kiddchamp" Douglas opened for 400 from middle position and Matthew "EarvinMagic" Parry called from the button.

Maria "bluerat" Konnikova came along from the big blind and it was three-way action to the {6-Spades}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop.

Konnikova checked, Douglas continued for 730, and Parry called.

Konnikova then woke up with a check-raise to 2,800 and that did the trick as both her opponents folded.

In case you didn't know it, Konnikova recently released her new book, The Biggest Bluff: How I Learned to Pay Attention, Master Myself, and Win, which has garnered rave reviews. Check out the PokerNews book review here to find out more.
