Bacon Loses Race to Blair

Level 17 : 800/1,600, 200 ante
Gina Bacon
Gina Bacon

Eric "bill_luga" Blair open-jammed under the gun for 18,929 and action folded to Gina "baconbitz" Bacon who called off her 15,050 stack from the cutoff.

Eric "bill_luga" Blair: {a-Spades}{k-Diamonds}
Gina "baconbitz" Bacon: {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}

It was a classic race and Blair took the lead after the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{k-Spades} flop gave him top two-pair but it also gave Bacon a broadway draw.

The {4-Spades} turn was of no help to Bacon nor was the {7-Hearts} river ending her tournament.

Action on the table folded around to Tara "bertperton" Cain who raised all in for 35,350 and Robert "bustinballs" Kuhn called off his 11,813 stack from the big blind.

Tara "bertperton" Cain: {k-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}

Kuhn held live cards but he couldn't connect with the {7-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{a-Spades} runout ending his tournament.

Event #18 Champ Fires Second Bullet

Level 15 : 500/1,000, 125 ante

Eric "powwow" Ethans opened under the gun for 3,437 and Scott "BudLightLime" Hempel, who won his first WSOP bracelet just two days ago in Event #18: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed Turbo DeepStack, three-bet jammed for 15,167 from the cutoff.

Action folded back around to Ethans who called and both players revealed their hands.

Eric "powwow" Ethans: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
Scott "BudLightLime" Hempel: {8-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

Hempel was ahead with his made hand until an ace appeared in the window on the {j-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{a-Hearts} flop.

The {5-Spades} turn was no help to Hempel, nor was the {2-Hearts} river giving Ethans the pot while Hempel re-entered the tournament.
