Deadman Eliminated "Allergic2Avg" on Bubble

Simon Deadman
Simon Deadman

With the blinds at 8,000/16,000/2,000, Simon "Justakeit" Deadman raised to 32,000 on the button and called when "Allergic2Avg" three-bet all in for 114,118 from the big blind.

"Allergic2Avg": {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Simon "Justakeit" Deadman: {j-Spades}{j-Clubs}

It was flip with "Allergic2Avg" looking to hold to avoid leaving empty-handed. That proved easier said than done though as the board ran out {2-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} to give Deadman the knockout.

"Allergic2Avg" exited in 181st place, thus securing a minimum payday of $742.77 for the remaining players.

Gagliano Falls Short of Money

Michael Gagliano
Michael Gagliano

With blinds at 8,000/16,000 (2,000 ante), Michael "itwasthator0" Gagliano open-jammed for 106,047 from late position and Vuong "Luckyboy201" Do gave him isolation from the small blind.

Vuong "Luckyboy201" Do: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Michael "itwasthator0" Gagliano: {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} pairing Do's queen but it also gave Gagliano an open-ender.

Gagliano didn't mind the {10-Clubs} turn as it gave him some more outs but the {9-Diamonds} river was a brick ending his tournament just a few spots before the money.

Singh Falls

Melisa Singh
Melisa Singh

With blinds at 5,000/10,000 (1,250 ante), action folded to Melisa "NJ_Melisa" Singh who raised all in for 101,495 from the hijack and "Ddtgg" gave her isolation after going over the top for 155,837 from the button.

"Ddtgg": {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}
Melisa "NJ_Melisa" Singh: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The {q-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop paired "Ddtgg" but it also gave Singh an open-ended staright draw.

Singh didn't like to see the {j-Clubs} on the turn as she now could only with with a nine but the river came the {8-Diamonds} ending her tournament.

WSOP History: An Oral History of Chiptic, Part 1

ChipTic
ChipTic

At the 2012 World Series of Poker, a shiny new product received its public unveiling. Players and fans the world over were introduced to a program with revolutionary potential. It could track the chip ebbs and flows of every player in a tournament while also serving as the back end operating system to run said tournament. It promised the ability to change the way poker tournaments were followed, with players and fans interacting at the stroke of a few keys.

That product was ChipTic. And it proved to be a colossal failure.

This is the oral history of ChipTic, from those who experienced it first-hand and witnessed that failure — three former employees, two members of WSOP staff and two poker media members who watched it implode.

Singh Wins Race to Double Through Lipscomb

With blinds at 2,500/5,000 (625) ante, Michael "mike87ntks" Lipscomb open-jammed under the gun for 62,880 and Melisa "NJ_Melisa" Singh called for less on the button holding 42,168.

Melisa "NJ_Melisa" Singh: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Michael "mike87ntks" Lipscomb: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

Lipscomb was ahead until Singh found a lady on the {4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{q-Spades} flop.

The {7-Clubs} turn was a bad card for Lipscomb as it left him drawing to one out at best and the board completed with the {j-Spades} on the river securing Singh's double-up.
