Jackson, who is from Jacksonville, Florida, already had a WSOP ring under his belt from winning the 2017 WSOP Circuit Event #3: $580 No-Limit Hold'em in North Carolina for a score of $39.938. He entered Day 2 of the tournament fourth in chips and reached the seven-handed final table in the same position.
Jackson played tight in the early stages of the final table and took down a big pot when he made two-pair with ace-king against his opponent's smaller two-pair. He later took the chip lead during three-handed play after doubling when his pocket fours held against the ace-queen of eventual runner-up Pora.
Final Table Action
The seven-handed final table began after Argentinian pro Leandro Bianchini busted on the bubble in eighth place when his ace-four was pipped by his opponent's ace-five. Masakazu "Brian-Miyamoto" Miyamoto of Japan was next out after that, busting in brutal fashion when he flopped a flush and his opponent flopped the nut flush.
Fellow Japanese pro Ken "[email protected]" Okada was eliminated in sixth place when he got all-in pre-flop with king-jack against the eight-seven of Mike Watson, who made two-pair on the river. A couple orbits later, Watson scored a double when he turned a flush against Pora's jacks. The Canadian pro ended up busting in fourth place for $73,392 when his two-pair was no good against the trips of China's Weilin "Ace predator" Wang.
Heads-Up Play
Heads-up play began when Pora eliminated Wang in an all-in confrontation where Pora's ace-eight got there against Wang's ace-queen, sending the latter player out in third place for $101,508. Jackson took a massive chip lead early into the heads-up match when he flopped two-pair and got it in against the pocket kings of Pora. Pora got some of those chips back shortly after by doubling with king-six against the jack-ten of his opponent, but Jackson maintained a sizable chip advantage.
In the final hand of the tournament, Pora and Jackson were all-in pre-flop with ace-eight and king-three, respectively. Pora was ahead with ace-high until Jackson paired his king on the river and locked up the victory.
That concludes this bracelet event as part of the 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online. PokerNews will continue bringing you coverage of online bracelet events, so stay tuned.
