Federico Collects Two Bounties

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

A player moved all in pre-flop for around 10,000 and Michael Federico threw in a stack of orange 5,000 chips to raise. Another player called for the rest of his stack.

Federico was ahead of both opponents with {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} versus {j-Spades}{10-Hearts} and {4-Hearts}{4-Spades}. The board ran out {3-Spades}{a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}, and Federico secured the double knockout.

He's up to around 95,000.

Smith Continues to Run Well

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Gavin Smith hit a straight on the river to beat an opponent's set earlier. He has since won two more pots where he came from behind.

According to Smith, he was in the small blind with {k-}{q-} on a {k-}{3-}{10-} board and got it all in against an opponent who tabled {3-}{3-} for a set. The turn and river both came tens, and Smith made tens full of kings to win the pot.

Smith also cracked an opponent's queens with pocket sixes soon after. He now has 90,600.

"Let's try to win Gavin Smith another bracelet," he said.

Fitzmaurice Hits A One Outer To Triple

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The action was picked up with cards on their backs, Mark Fitzmaurice was one of the two players at risk in a three way all in.

At risk player: {a-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Mark Fitzmaurice: {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}
Covering stack: {k-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The flop of {k-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} looked likely to spell the end of both players, but Fitzmaurice spiked the {q-Clubs} on the turn and left both of opponents well behind by the time the inconsequential {4-Spades} hit the river. Fitzmaurice knocked out one stack and left another one short.

Melert Strikes an Ace for a Bounty

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

Over at Shaun Deeb's table, an opponent raised pre-flop, Deeb called next to act, and Shane Melert went all in.

The original raiser stuck his remaining chips in the middle while Deeb quickly folded.

It was a classic race, with Melert holding {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} and his opponent {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}.

His opponent stayed ahead on a board of {8-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts}, but Melert hit the {a-Clubs} on the river. The stacks were counted down, and Melert had his opponent covered to secure the bounty.

Vail Dodges Outs for Triple Up

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

The action picked up with Kevin Vail moving all-in for 11,700 with {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs} and was called by two players.

One player held {7-Clubs}{7-Spades} and another with {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}, the latter of the two announced, "Oh, I'm going to win this," upon seeing his opponent's cards.

However, that would prove incorrect, as the pocket eights held up when the board ran out {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}, giving Vail a full triple up.

De Silva Busts One

Level 9 : 600/1,200, 1,200 ante

A small stack on the button moved all-in for 2,900. The small blind called and so did Upeshka De Silva in the big blind.

The flop came out {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{a-Clubs} and both players with chips checked. The turn was the {a-Hearts} and the small blind checked, De Silva bet out 3,500 and the small blind folded.

De Silva turned over {9-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} for a pair and was ahead against the all-in player's {k-Spades}{8-Hearts}. The river, which was the {2-Clubs} was no help to the player at risk.

Cate Hall
Cate Hall

Cate Hall raised under the gun to 3,000 and got a caller from the button and the big blind.

The flop and turn were checked through as they came {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} and it wasn't until the {2-Clubs} river where the big blind threw in a bet of 2,500 which was promptly called by Hall. The button folded and the hands were shown down.

The big blind showed {k-Spades}{j-Hearts} but it was no good against Hall's {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} for broadway.
