Benyamine Doubles Through Katz

Level 17

Limit Hold'em

David Benyamine had all but the last 20,000 in preflop and then jammed the {7-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop. He was called by Cary Katz from under the gun and the cards were flipped over.

David Benyamine: {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}
Cary Katz: {k-Spades}{j-Spades}

The {a-Hearts} turn locked up the double and the {k-Hearts} river was a formality.

Razz

David "ODB" Baker was at risk on fourth with four to a wheel showing the {a-}{5-}{4-}{2-}. However, he paired the five and earned a jack to be left with a jack-five for the time being.

Ben Yu had paired a four and ended up with a ninety-eight. Baker peeled his last card, revealed a ten and hit the rail in 22nd place.

Cary Katz opened with a raise from early position and Ray Dehkharghani called from the big blind.

Katz smiled and flashed the {a-Diamonds} as he tossed his cards to the muck.

Sternheimer Takes It All From Vitch; Leaves Benyamine Short

Chris Vitch
Chris Vitch

Seven Card Stud

Chris Vitch: {x-}{x-} / {7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds} / {x-}
Philip Sternheimer: {x-}{x-} / {3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Spades} / {x-}

Philip Sternheimer raised a completion by Chris Vitch and then bet through all streets. Vitch check-called all the way but couldn't beat the {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{x-} of Sternheimer.

Stud Hi-Lo

Chris Vitch: {2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} / {7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
David Benyamine: {x-}{x-} / {5-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds}
Philip Sternheimer: {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} / {8-Clubs}{a-Spades}{4-Clubs}{k-Clubs} / {k-Hearts}

Vitch was then at risk on third and earned calls from Sternheimer and David Benyamine. It was Sternheimer once more who bet fifth to seventh and Benyamine mulled over his decision on and called. Sternheimer rolled over a flush with jack-seven of clubs and Benyamine mucked. Vitch had two pair and missed out on the boat with a blank queen.

Ashton Survives; Johnson Chips Up

Level 17

Omaha Hi-Lo

Matthew Ashton raised and Benny Glaser called. Marco Johnson then three-bet and Ashton called all-in for 30,000, Glaser called as well. On the {j-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, Glaser check-called a bet and did so again on the {3-Hearts} turn when Johnson bet. The {7-Diamonds} river was checked and Ashton showed the {a-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for a low.

Glaser had kings but Johnson won the high pot with the {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for two pair.

Ashton is Left with Less Than One Big Bet

Level 17

Hold'em

John Monnette raised preflop and Matthew Ashton called.

The dealer spread a flop of {4-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{a-Spades}. Both players checked.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs}. Both players checked again.

The river brought an offsuit blank, and Monnette fired out a bet. Ashton tanked for a minute or two before calling and mucking after Monnette tabled {j-Hearts}{9-Spades} for one pair of jacks and was awarded the pot.

Ashton had 30,000 chips remaining.
