Hallaert Scoops the Pot

The action was picked up with the board showing {3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Kenny Hallaert bet 10,500 from the big blind.

The only other opponent in the pot went into the tank and time was called. Hallaert's opponent then mucked the hand.

Hallaert now nearly tripled his starting stack.

Lall was dominated by the pocket queens but the flop came {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, giving him a set of fives. The turn was the {k-Clubs} and the river was the {j-Hearts} for his set to hold and he knocked out both opponents earning himself two bounties.

Nguyen bet 2,500 and his opponent called. The river was the {9-Spades} and it went to showdown. Nguyen showed {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} to scoop the pot.

More importantly, for Nguyen, he's now over 100,000 in chips in this one.
