Laplante Flushes an Early Pot

Level 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

With a board of {q-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and about 3,000 in the pot, Ryan Laplante had bet 2,100. The small blind called and the big blind then three-bet to 7,500. Only Laplante called.

The {2-Hearts} completed the board and after being checked to, Laplante fired out a bet of 9,300. His opponent thought about it for a moment and made the call.

Laplante showed {7-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a flush, which was the winner, to scoop an early pot.

2021 WSOP Streaming Exclusively on PokerGO

PokerGO WSOP
PokerGO WSOP

The 2021 World Series of Poker is in full swing, and PokerGO is live streaming many of the events.

PokerGO has partnered with CBS Sports Network to provide WSOP coverage with the likes of Lon McEachern, Norman Chad, and Jamie Kerstetter returning to the WSOP broadcast booth this year, along with PokerNews Podcast co-host Jeff Platt from time to time.

CBS Sports Network will televise 16 pre-produced and edited episodes of the 2021 World Series of Poker Main Event, after striking a multi-year deal earlier this year. This deal sees coverage of the WSOP Main Event return to its original broadcast partner after featuring on CBS Sports Spectacular in the mid-1970s.

All 16 episodes will be televised following the conclusion of the tournament.

PokerGO will provide live streaming duties of the World Championship event starting on Day 1A (November 4) until the end on November 17, except Day 1B (November 5).

Away from the Main Event, there will be additional coverage of more than two dozen tournaments thru November 23, 2021. They include the $50,000 Poker Players Championship and the $250,000 Super High Roller.

Here's a look at the remaining PokerGO live-stream schedule:

*Dates, times, and specific events of this schedule are subject to change.

Mixing Things Up With Event #48: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout

Brett Apter
Brett Apter

Today Monday, October 25 the 2021 World Series of Poker presents Event #48: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em Shootout. This format is particularly popular among sit-n-go specialists because it is essentially like playing a sequence of single table sit-n-go’s. A shootout is a multi-table tournament where players separately play down to a single winner on each table, the winners then advance to the next round and so on.

For example, an event of this format might begin with 1,000 players playing at 100 ten-handed tables, with the 100 winners of each advancing to play at ten more ten-handed tables in the second round. The ten winners of those tables would then play a final ten-handed table to determine a winner.

Brett Apter is the reigning champion, he won his first WSOP gold bracelet and the first-place prize of $238,824 back in 2019. He bested a field of 917 entrants and triumphed over Anatolii Zyrin in heads-up play.

There will be a total of three rounds over the course of three days. Round 1 will begin today at 11:00 a.m. local time. Each table will play down to a winner who will then advance to round 2 on Day 2. Chip stacks of 25,000 will be in play from the start of the event and the tournament is capped at 2,000 players.

Late registration closes after Level 3 (≈1:20 p.m.) and at that point, any unsold stacks will be taken out of play prior to the start of Level 4. Levels will last 40-minutes and the players will have a 20-minute break every three levels with a 60-minute dinner break after Level 9 (≈ 5:40 p.m.).

It is going to be a fun day at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino so be sure to follow along for all the live updates here at PokerNews.
