Pabarja Building Big Stack

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Ali Pabarja came into the day as one of the chip leaders with 336,500 and has only increased that stack significantly over the first two hours of play.

On his last hand, Pabarja raised from the button and both blinds called. They checked through to the turn on a board of {5-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{j-Hearts}, when Pabarja bet out 16,000.

Both opponents called to see the {10-Hearts} on the river. Everyone checked, and Pabarja showed {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} for a pair of jacks and won the pot when both blinds mucked.

Slaughter Climbing Higher

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

David Slaughter limped in from under the gun and went multi-way to a flop of {k-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}. Everyone checked before Slaughter bet 9,000 on the {7-Diamonds} turn.

Action checked around to Bob Slezak in the big blind, who considered the decision for several minutes before moving all in for a few thousand more. Slaughter snap-called with {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a pair of sevens, while Slezak was dominated with {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}.

The {2-Clubs} on the river gave both players two pair with a king kicker, chopping the pot between them.

Despite only taking half of that pot, Slaughter has climbed up over 500,000 early on Day 2.

Icke Cracks Kings

Level 13 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Joaquin Sosa: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
David Icke: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

The flop of {9-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} gave Icke a flush draw but kept Sosa ahead. The turn came an {a-Clubs}, giving Icke a pair of aces and with one of the other players saying he folded the remaining king in the deck, Sosa was dead before the {8-Hearts} river. The pot was pushed to Icke as he brought he stack up to over 200,000.
