Guerra Goes to War with Arieh

Level 5 : 400/800, 800 ante
Lautaro Guerra
Lautaro Guerra

After a couple of limps, Lautaro Guerra raised to 5,200 in the cutoff. Josh Arieh called from early position as did the hijack. The flop came {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{3-Hearts} and the action checked to Guerra who bet 10,500. Arieh called and the other player folded.

The turn brought the {9-Diamonds} and Arieh checked again. Guerra threw in another bet of 27,000 and Arieh eventually called. The {7-Diamonds} completed the board and both players knuckled the table.

"One pair," Arieh announced. Guerra turned over {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} for two pair and dragged in the pot.

Joe Hachem got to the river in a heads-up pot on a board reading {k-Hearts}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{k-Clubs} with around 12,000 in the middle.

Hachem checked and his opponent checked back. Hachem turned over the {8-Clubs} to show he had something but his opponent showed {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{x-}{x-} to take the pot down.

Level 5 : 400/800, 800 ante
Will Jaffe
Will Jaffe

With 54,800 in the middle to the {10-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop, James Chen bet the pot and Will Jaffe gave it some thought before moving all-in Chen instantly called and the cards were flipped over.

Will Jaffe: {j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}
James Chen: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}

The {2-Hearts} turn bricked but Jaffe got there with the {9-Spades} river to double for 117,600.

"I thought tens were good for me today," Chen said with a dry smile on the face.

Jamasi Among the Bigger Stacks

Level 4 : 300/600, 600 ante

Three ways to the {9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} flop, Farhad Jamasi bet 10,000 on the button and was called by just one opponent in the under-the-gun position. The {j-Hearts} turn and {k-Diamonds} river were checked and Jamasi tabled the {7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs} for a straight to further boost his already impressive stack.

Jouhkimainen Can't Push Koliakoudakis Off a Chop

Level 4 : 300/600, 600 ante
Joni Jouhkimainen
Joni Jouhkimainen

Joni Jouhkimainen raised it up from under the gun and was called by the button and Roussos Koliakoudakis in the big blind. The flop came {a-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Jouhkimainen continued with a bet of 3,800 which only Koliakoudakis called.

The {3-Hearts} landed on the turn and Koliakoudakis check-called another bet of 9,000 from Jouhkimainen. The {6-Diamonds} completed the board and Koliakoudakis checked for the third time. Jouhkimainen fired out another bet of 16,000 and Koliakoudakis tanked for a minute before making the call.

Jouhkimainen turned over {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for top two pair and Koliakoudakis showed {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Hearts} for the same hand.

Le Eliminated by Brewer

Level 4 : 300/600, 600 ante
Tommy Le
Tommy Le

On a flop of {q-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{2-Spades}, Tommy Le ended up at risk with the {k-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds} for a straight draw and back door heart draw. Chris Brewer looked him up with the {x-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} for a set of fives and prevailed when the {8-Clubs} turn and {7-Spades} river provided no help to Le.

He will, however, be able to re-enter as the tournament features a single re-entry option.
