Day 2 of Event #56: $10,000 6-Handed No-Limit Hold'em Championship saw 136 players start the day, and at the end, only 19 players bagged a stack for Day 3. Action will resume at 2 p.m. local time on Sunday, October 31, with play scheduled to go down to a winner. Everyone who is returning tomorrow has cashed for a minimum of $27,132, but they will all have their eyes on the WSOP gold bracelet and the $721,453 first-place prize.

Notables who fell short of a cash today include Phil Hellmuth, Michael Mizrachi, Dan Smith, Stephen Chidwick, Maria Ho, and Nate Silver.

The bubble took a while to burst, with Ren Lin, Michael Brinkenhoff, Nick Schulman, and Sam Grafton all having been at risk of the bubble boy title at one point. Clement Richez was the unfortunate one to give joy to the other 50 players who cashed.

A few of the players who couldn’t find a bag at the end of the night but did make it into the money include Bertrand Grospellier, Niklas Astedt, Joao Vieira, Ryan Laplante, and Jimmy D’Ambrosio.

Boris Kolev had a fun day on the felt and bagged the chip lead with 2,185,000 chips. Some of the other players who bagged and will return for Day 3 include Asi Moshe (1,980,000), Matt Berkey (1,765,000), Vojtech Ruzicka (1,450,000), Pavel Plesuv (865,000), JJ Liu (655,000), and Sam Grafton (535,000).

Day 3 starts at 2 p.m. local time on October 31 at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. The tournament will restart with blinds at 10,000/25,000/25,000.

Francois Pirault
Francois Pirault

Francois Pirault moved all-in in late position with a stack of 65,000. The action folded to Pavel Plesuv in the big blind, who asked for a count before checking his cards. He let out a snicker as he looked at his hand and called.

Francois Pirault: {10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Pavel Plesuv: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Pirault needed help and ultimately got it as the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} to give him a flush. Plesuv was not laughing after the runout.
