Vieira Eliminated by Ruzicka

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante
Joao Vieira
Joao Vieira

On a {j-Clubs}{9-Spades}{8-Spades} flop with about 70,000 in the pot, Joao Vieira was in the big blind and check-called a 32,000 bet by Vojtech Ruzicka in the hijack.

Vieira checked the {4-Clubs} turn and Ruzicka jammed for Vieira's effective stack of about 170,000. Vieira pondered for several minutes before the clock was called. Before the tournament director got to the five-second countdown, Vieira put in the chips.

Joao Vieira: {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Vojtech Ruzicka: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

Vieira was in rough shape and needed a jack, or a ten for a chop, but the {a-Diamonds} completed the board to send him to the payout desk.

Nick Schulman
Nick Schulman

Nick Schulman open-shoved a stack of around 60,000 from the cutoff and Ben Yu re-shoved on the button with about 120,000. Everyone else folded.

Nick Schulman: {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}
Ben Yu: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}

Schulman was dominated preflop but took the lead with two pair on the flop of {2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. But the {5-Diamonds} on the turn gave Yu a flush and Schulman didn't fill up on the {5-Hearts} river.

Wisbrod Ousted by Parssinen

Level 17 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Barak Wisbrod got his 93,000 chips in preflop against Eelis Parssinen.

Barak Wisbrod: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Eelis Parssinen: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

Wisbrod brought out a dollar bill he claimed was his "lucky bill", before Parssinen jokingly snatched it from him saying, "I need this one!"

The {a-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{2-Spades} came on the flop and the {6-Diamonds} left Wisbrod looking for a four. The river was close but the {5-Hearts} wasn't going to do it as Wisbrod exited the tournament area.

Ren Lin
Ren Lin

Ren Lin on the button was all-in for 362,000 against Eelis Parssinen in the big blind, who had him covered by a few thousand.

Ren Lin: {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}
Eelis Parssinen: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}

Lin was in trouble as he was up against aces and couldn't get there as the board ran out {4-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} in favor of Parssinen to send Lin to the payout counter.

"How do you get aces?" Lin asked his opponent.

Brinkenhoff Hits Running Cards to Crack Kings

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Eelis Parssinen opened to 26,000 from middle position and Michael Brinkenhoff jammed in his 97,000 stack into the middle. Parssinen called and said, "I have a really good hand."

Michael Brinkenhoff: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Eelis Parssinen: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

Parssinen did indeed have a really good hand, and he had a dominating lead over Brinkenhoff. The flop was {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{8-Diamonds}, and the {j-Diamonds} turn gave some straight outs to Brinkenhoff. The {9-Spades} spiked the river to complete that and put a beat on Parssinen's kings.

Montagnolli Eliminated by Kolev

Level 18 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Daniel Montagnolli faced a shove from Boris Kolev on a board reading {2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{q-Spades} and eventually called as the player at risk.

Kolev turned over the {6-Diamonds} and it appeared he might have been bluffing. But then Kolev flipped over the {k-Diamonds} for top pair and was good against the {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} of Montagnolli.

"Aye-ah," Montagnolli said upon seeing the king in his opponent's hand.
