Vieira With Big Decision on the River

Level 13

Action was caught at the end of a hand with Mike Matusow having put out a bet against Joao Vieira, who thought for a couple of minutes before calling.

Matusow had just 55,000 chips left as he hesitantly showed {10-}{7-}{6-}{4-}{2-}, which turned out to be good.

Matusow said after that he was afraid Vieira had made a rough nine on the end, but Vieira said he had made a rougher ten.

Matusow check-called again after the second draw. Trivett remained pat and Matusow took one.

Trivett bet once more on the final check from Matusow. Matusow took a moment and mucked his cards to give Trivett the pot.

Wilkinson Puts Hellmuth Short, Deeb Finishes the Job

Level 13
Phil Hellmuth
Phil Hellmuth

Phil Hellmuth's tournament has come to an end after a pair of hands.

First, after Hellmuth raised in early position, Wil Wilkinson three-bet him from the big blind, and Hellmuth called.

Wilkinson drew one, while Hellmuth needed two. Wilkinson then bet and got raised by Hellmuth. Again Wilkinson three-bet him and Hellmuth called.

Wilkinson patted and Hellmuth drew one, then after Wilkinson bet and Hellmuth again called, Wilkinson exposed his hand with a draw still to come.

Wilkinson showed {7-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{2-} and Hellmuth was forced to draw two. Hellmuth couldn't improve and mucked his hand with just 11,000 chips left.

Hellmuth managed to double up shortly after, but then had to get his final chips in pre-draw against Shaun Deeb from the small blind, versus Deeb's big blind.

Hellmuth drew two, then patted twice, while Deeb drew two, one, and then patted behind Hellmuth on the final round.

Phil Hellmuth: {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{3-}
Shuan Deeb: {8-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}

Deeb barely pipped Hellmuth on that final draw, eliminating him and boosting his own stack over 600,000.

Andrew Kelsall
Andrew Kelsall

Andrew Kelsall got his last 18,000 into the pot after a raise from Danny Wong. Wong called.

Both players took two on the first draw. Kelsall took two and Wong drew one on the second draw. On the third draw, Wong stood pat and Kelsall drew one.

Wong turned over {j-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{2-}. Kelsall had {8-}{5-}{3-}{2-} / {x-}.

Kelsall was live but he peeled a {k-} and he was out of the tournament.
