Jeffrey Mitseff Eliminated in 17th Place ($3,773)

Level 23
Jeffrey Mitseff
Jeffrey Mitseff

Back-to-back hands have eliminated Jeffrey Mitseff from the tournament.

First versus John Hoang, action picked up on sixth street with Mitseff calling bets from Hoang on sixth and seventh street.

Jeffrey Mitseff: {x-}{x-}/{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Clubs}/{x-}
John Hoang: {x-}{x-}/{8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Diamonds}/{x-}

Hoang turned up {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts} for a queen-high straight and the winner, which dropped Mitseff under 100,000.

Mitseff then got the last of his chips in against Jermaine Reid and Carol Fuchs.

Jeffrey Mitseff: {x-}{x-}/{8-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}/{x-}
Jermaine Reid: {9-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Carol Fuchs: {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{2-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Mitseff couldn't beat either Reid's two pair for high or Fuchs' eight-five for low, and he's been sent to the rail, leaving just 16 players in the tournament.

Charles Sinn Eliminated in 19th Place ($3,773); Nathan Gamble Eliminated in 18th Place ($3,773)

Level 23

A pair of bustouts at identical times just took place, leaving the tournament one elimination from the two-table redraw.

At one table, Charles Sinn couldn't improve an ace-king high versus Jeffrey Mitsiff's pair of jacks, which improved to jacks and sevens.

Meanwhile, Nathan Gamble's two pair was run down by John Monnette who started with four to a seven high-straight and hit an eight to make both the straight and a low.

Eric Crain

All the cards were on their back as Eric Crain was all in and up against John Racener and John Evans.

Crain finished with {2-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{j-Diamonds} for a pair of fours, Racener had {9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for a pair of fives, while Evans had {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}{2-Spades}{a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{3-Hearts} to win the pot with a pair of queens and bust Crain in 20th place.

Esther Taylor

Esther Taylor: {x-}{x-}/{2-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}/{x-}
John Racener: {x-}{x-}/{k-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Hearts}/{x-}

Esther Taylor bet through to seventh street, with John Racener calling all the way. Taylor showed {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for trip eights and Racener mucked.

"Bracelet incoming," Espen Sandvik said as Taylor took the tournament chip lead.

Kupresanian Tries To Bluff Exposed Hand

Level 23

In a bizarre series of actions on seventh street between Peder Berge and Joseph Kupresanin, Berge mistakenly thought the action had been checked to him and he exposed his hand, when in fact Kupresanian had not yet acted.

Berge had tabled {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts}/{8-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} for just a pair of eights versus Kupresanian's board which read {x-}{x-}/{6-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}.

Kupresanian bet out, obviously in hopes of Berge folding his pair, but when Berge called, Kupresanian frustratedly tossed his cards into the muck, awarding the pot to Berge.

John Monnette: {x-}{x-}/{a-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{6-Clubs}/{x-}

John Monnette bet on fourth street and was called by Sean Yu and Perry Friedman. Yu opened the betting on fifth street, then bet again on sixth. Friedman folded, but Monnette raised enough to put Yu all in and he called.

Monnette ended up with {3-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} for a straight, while Yu was showing {j-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{x-} and quickly flicked his cards into the muck before wishing the table good luck and heading for the exit.

Shaun Deeb: {x-}{x-}/{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}/{x-}
Glenn Cozen: {x-}{x-}/{a-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}/{x-}

Shaun Deeb called bets from Glenn Cozen on fifth and sixth streets. On seventh, Cozen bet again and Deeb gave it some thought before eventually folding with just 6,000 chips behind.

Deeb doubled through Espen Sandvik a few hands later ("Can't get rid of him," Esther Taylor said while mimicking Teddy KGB), but later found himself all in against John Racener.

Racener finished with {k-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{7-Spades} for a pair of kings and a low. Deeb was showing {2-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds} but bricked his last card and hit the rail in 22nd place.

Monnette Takes A Chunk From Ranciato

Level 22

Action saw John Monnette raise Joseph Ranciato on fourth street, then bet each of the remaining streets, with Ranciato calling down.

John Monnette: {x-}{x-}/{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades}/{x-}
Joseph Ranciato: {x-}{x-}/{3-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Hearts}/{x-}

Monnette showed {8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{4-Clubs} in the hole for a pair of sevens and a seven-six low, which was enough to scoop the pot from Ranciato.

Deeb Left Short After Confrontation With Cozen

Level 22

Shaun Deeb: {x-}{x-}/{5-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Hearts}/{x-}
Glenn Cozen: {x-}{x-}/{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{7-Spades}/{x-}

Shaun Deeb bet on fifth street and Glenn Cozen called. Both players checked on sixth before Cozen led out with a bet on seventh.

Deeb let out a frustrated sigh before putting in the chips to call. Cozen showed {4-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{a-Hearts} for two pair, sevens and fives to win the hand and leave the five-time WSOP bracelet winner with around 65,000.
