Welcome to Day 1a of Event #83: $1,500 The Closer No-Limit Hold’em the 2021 World Series of Poker at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. Day 1a is scheduled to kick off on Friday, November 19th at 11:00 a.m. local time.

In 2019, this event generated a $3,780,000 prize pool. Reigning champion Abhinav Iyer defeated a field of 2,800 entrants to win $565,346 in prize money and the coveted WSOP bracelet. Odds are high he will be back to defend his title after Iyer finished in 60th place in Event #67: $10,000 No-Limit Hold’em Main Event Championship.

Notables who cashed this event in 2019 are five-time bracelet winner Shaun Deeb, three-time bracelet winner Ryan Leng, content creator Jeff Gross, fan-favorite Pat Lyons, and the late Poker Hall of Famer Mike Sexton.

All players will start with 25,000 chips and Day 1a will play a total of 22 levels with each level lasting 30 minutes. There will be a 20-minute break every 4 levels and a 75-minute dinner break after level 12 (~5:40 p.m.). One re-entry is allowed per flight and late registration will remain open until the end of the dinner break (~6:55 p.m.).
