Lavin Almost Escapes, Gets Straightened Out

Level 22 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

In a button-versus-small-blind clash, Michael Lavin four-bet shoved all in for about a million and Ryan Roeder looked him up.

Michael Lavin: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}
Ryan Roeder: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

Lavin found himself in a deep hole but caught the flop he wanted when the dealer fanned out {j-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{6-Spades} to pair his inferior kicker. The {10-Diamonds} on the turn opened up a gutshot for Roeder and the {9-Clubs} on the river completed it to give Roeder the winner.
