Valenzuela's Aces Cracked

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Joseph Valenzeula was facing a river bet of 8,000 on a board of {9-}{4-}{k-}{5-}{j-}. He called and showed the {a-}{a-}. But it was no good as Hieu Dang had the {q-}{10-} for the straight.

Valenzuela stood up in frustration as he saw a decent portion of his stack carved away to leave him with one-third starting stack.

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

A player under-the-gun raised and was called by Susan Choi directly behind and the big blind.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} and it was checked to the initial raiser, who continued for 1,100. Only Choi called.

Both players checked on the {5-Hearts} turn, but then the initial raiser bet 2,400 on the {4-Spades} river.

Choi cut out a raise to 22,400 and placed it into the middle. Her opponent quickly folded and Choi scooped the pot.

Choi is among the chip leaders with 185,000 in just the second level of the day.

The turn was the {a-Diamonds} and Andrada's opponent continued with aggression, putting in a bet of 2,100. Andrada took about forty seconds to decide what to do and raised to 5,000 which was instantly called.

Three ways to the {a-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} turn, Melisa Singh bet 2,500 out of the small blind and Christopher Burr called in a late position while the button folded. On the {a-Diamonds} river, Singh checked and then reluctantly paid off a bet worth 2,000 with the words "do you have a flush?"

Burr nodded as he exposed the {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. "If you bet more, I would have just folded," Singh concluded in table chat.
