No-Limit Hold'em
Friedman limped the button and Mike Matusow raised to 6,000 in the big blind. Friedman then moved all in with Matusow slightly covered and Matusow called off for a bit under 60,000.
Mike Matusow:
Adam Friedman:
The board came , bringing Matusow a full house, and leaving the three-time defending champion on fumes.
Omaha Hi-Lo
On the next hand, Friedman got his last 9,000 chips in on the button against Richard Bai in the big blind.
Adam Friedman:
Richard Bai:
The brought Friedman second pair and a straight draw, but he was behind Bai's pair of queens, and there was no low possible for hope of a split pot.
The turn gave a second pair to Bai, and left Friedman with just the river to keep him alive.
The river brought no help to Friedman, and with that his nearly four-year reign as champion of the WSOP $10,000 Dealer's Choice came to an end, with applause and a hug from Matusow.
