Ohel Gets a Big Chunk From Mueller

Level 20
Randy Ohel
Randy Ohel

Pot-Limit Omaha

Greg Mueller raised to 37,000 in the hijack and was called by Randy Ohel in the big blind.

The players checked the {5-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, then on the {j-Spades} turn, Ohel led for 55,000, which Mueller called.

The river brought a board pairing {5-Diamonds}, and Ohel led for the size of the pot (265,000).

Mueller put a stack of red chips forward for the call, but received bad news.

Ohel showed {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} for tens full of fives to drag a huge pot and put himself into the chip lead, while Mueller's stack took a significant hit.

Felipe Ramos Eliminated in 10th Place ($25,522)

Level 20
Felipe Ramos
Felipe Ramos

Badeucey

Felipe Ramos pushed all-in from the button and was called by Naoya Kihara in the small blind.

On the first draw, both discarded two cards and Ramos added "let's see who plays this better."

Kihara then patted the remaining two draws while Ramos needed one card on each round.

"I think you are freerolling me," Kihara said as the cards were revealed.

Naoya Kihara: {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds} / {8-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for a three-card eight-trey and an eighty-four
Felipe Ramos: {7-Spades} / {8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades} for a three-card eight-six draw with an eighty-seven draw

Ramos was in trouble and spiked the {2-Hearts} as the last card to get scooped, ending his short stack ninja ride in 10th place for a payday of $25,522.

Seven Card Stud

Mark Gregorich: {j-Spades}{9-Diamonds} / {10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} / {x-}
Mike Gorodinsky: {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} / {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{3-Hearts} / {5-Clubs}

Mark Gregorich saw his stack get shorter throughout all streets and was all-in after sixth street. He was up against the aces and eights of Mike Gorodinsky and needed a ten or queen to stave off elimination. Gorodinsky didn't improve on seventh but neither did Gregorich, as he flashed the card for a second only before tossing the board into the muck.

Gregorich's short stack ride comes to an end in 11th place for a payday of $25,522.

The dealer spread a board of {4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{6-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{k-Clubs}, bringing no help to the three-time bracelet winner, sending him home in 12th place.

No-Limit Hold'em

Soon after being left short stacked by Jeff Madsen, Tuan Le tangled again with Madsen in what turned out to be his last hand of the tournament.

Ben Diebold opened with a raise before Madsen three-bet to 58,000 from the cutoff. Le then re-raised all in for his last 265,000, Diebold quickly folded, but Madsen snap-called with {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

Le turned over {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} and needed to improve. He didn't get any help on the {3-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} board and hit the rail in 14th place.

Jordan Siegel: {x-}{x-}/{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{a-Spades}/{x-}
Christopher Claassen: {x-}{x-}/{a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Diamonds}/{x-}

Jordan Siegel bet on fifth and sixth streets and was called by Christopher Claassen.

"I'm laying the trap," Siegel said as they went heads-up to seventh. Claassen put out a bet and Siegel tanked for a few moments before calling.

Claassen showed {7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for 7-5-3-2-A and Siegel tossed his cards into the muck, leaving himself just 75,000 behind.

The next hand, he got the rest of his chips in against Joao Vieira. Siegel finished with {q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Clubs}, while Vieira had {9-Spades}{a-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{k-Spades} for a nine-low.

"Good game, guys," Siegel said as he became the first casualty on Day 3.

A New $10,000 Dealer’s Choice Champion to be Crowned Tuesday

Randy Ohel
Randy Ohel

With the departure of three-time defending champion Adam Friedman on Day 1 of WSOP Event #10: $10,000 Dealer’s Choice 6-Handed Championship, the poker world was guaranteed a new titleholder in this prestigious event, and that person will be known Tuesday.

A field of 15 contenders enters the day with hopes of becoming the first new champion of this event since 2018, with Randy Ohel (1,101,000) leading the star-studded list of returnees. Ohel will be looking for his first bracelet since the 2012 $2,500 2-7 Triple Draw event and second overall.

He’s closely followed by Japan’s Naoya Kihara (927,000), who also last won a bracelet in 2012 in a $5,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event, and Nick Schulman (904,000), who’s after his fourth piece of WSOP jewelry.

A litany of mixed game beasts isn’t far behind them though, including five-time WSOP bracelet holder and two-time $50,000 Poker Players Championship winner Brian Rast (574,000).
