Out Before the Money

Level 18 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Manuel Stojanovic was among the bigger stacks not that long ago but vanished from table 141, which has received a face lift of sorts. There are currently just 45 players remaining and the money bubble is certainly coming closer.

Chidwick and Arieh Chop it Up

Level 18 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Josh Arieh opened to 40,000 under the gun, Jonas Kronwitter called on the button, Emmanuel Sebag called in the small blind, and Stephen Chidwick called in the big blind.

The dealer spread the {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} flop and action checked to Arieh who bet 60,000. Kronwitter folded, Sebag called, and Chidwick raised to 160,000. Arieh put in another raise, Sebag got out of the way, and Chidwick got the rest of his chips in.

Stephen Chidwick: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{10-Spades}{2-Clubs}
Josh Arieh: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

The {6-Spades} and {5-Spades} completed the board and the two chopped up the pot, with each making some profit on the hand.

Dudley Doomed by Lamb

Level 18 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Dash Dudley
Dash Dudley

Ben Lamb had previously taken a hit to the stack when he doubled Gavin Cochrane with the Brit making jacks full on the {j-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{2-Spades} runout.

Soon after, Lamb clashed with Dash Dudley when they both invested 132,000 preflop. On the {k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop, Dudley got the last 103,000 in the middle and was looked up by Lamb.

Dash Dudley: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Ben Lamb: {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Dudley had more outs to dodge on the {q-Clubs} turn as Lamb picked up an additional gutshot and he got there with the {2-Diamonds} on the river.

Le Ousted by Williams

Level 18 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Allan Le
Allan Le

Allan Le got most of his chips in preflop against David Williams, and the last bit went in on the {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop.

Allan Le: {10-Spades}{9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}
David Williams: {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}

The {6-Spades} gave Le the temporary nuts, but the {3-Clubs} hit the river to give Williams the nut flush, while Le was sent to the rail.

Chen Pays Off Roberts; Busts Pärssinen

Level 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Eelis Pärssinen
Eelis Pärssinen

On the tail end of a hand between Brent Roberts in the big blind and James Chen on the button, the board showed {6-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}. Roberts check-raised from 35,000 to 157,000 and Chen reluctantly paid it off.

Roberts tabled the {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Spades}{2-Hearts} for a full house, deuces over eights, to win the pot.

One hand later, the table short stack Eelis Pärssinen raised the pot out of a stack of 107,000. Chen in the cutoff repotted and then called the all-in by Pärssinen.

Eelis Pärssinen: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
James Chen: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop propelled Chen into the lead and he retained it throughout the {6-Hearts} turn and {j-Hearts} river, denying Pärssinen a shot at a second WSOP gold bracelet for now. No longer featured at the same table is Phil Galfond and Ian Bradley has also been spotted on his way out of the tournament area.
