Day 1 Completed

Level 10 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

A strong turnout of 196 entries thus far has once more cemented the prestige of this event and all those with chips at their disposal have bagged up for the night. They will be back at 2pm local time for the restart of Day 2 with another two levels of late registration available.

Assorted chip counts and a recap of today's action are to follow.

Brewer Takes From Sammartino

Level 10 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

In a battle of the blinds, the turn showed {j-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Chris Brewer made it 20,000 to go out of the small blind. Dario Sammartino called out of the big blind and they headed to the {6-Hearts} on the river.

Brewer now bet 55,000 with 1,000 behind and Sammartino tossed his cards into the muck.

Racener Chips Up With Aggression

Level 10 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Following a cutoff raise to 6,000 by James Chen in the cutoff, Matthew Wantman on the button and John Racener in the big blind called. They headed to the {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop on which it checked to Chen, who bet 10,000. Wantman called and Racener then went for a check-raise to 47,000.

This shut down both opponents and Racener chipped up late on Day 1.

Zinno Gets Sinishtaj To Fold

Level 10 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante

Three ways to the {10-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{7-Spades} turn, the action was checked by Stephen Chidwick in the big blind. Anthony Zinno bet 16,000 from under the gun and Gjergj Sinishtaj called on the button while Chidwick folded. The {8-Clubs} fell on the river and Zinno now bet 30,000.

Sinishtaj gave it some consideration and ultimately folded, exposing the {8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} in the process.
