Straight for Kempton

Level 1 : 200/300, 300 ante

Isaac Kempton was under the gun in a heads-up pot against the button on a board of {j-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts} with 10,000 in the middle.

Kempton led out with a pot-sized bet on the river and the button called. Kempton tabled {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for a straight and his opponent mucked.

Small Pot for Kempton

Level 1 : 200/300, 300 ante

Isaac Kempton was involved in a three-way pot to the {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts} flop and the action checked to him. He made it 1,000 to go and two quick folds later, the pot was shipped to Kempton as John Beauprez and the other opponent folded.

One seat over, Ben Lamb can now be found after he entered a few minutes into the first level of the day. The field has already reached nearly 50 entries and the second batch of notables is to follow.

Keijzer Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 1 : 200/300, 300 ante

Charles Sinn repotted to 3,000 before the flop and was called by Ronald Keijzer.

As they headed to the {7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop, Keijzer check-called for 4,000 and checked again the {q-Hearts} turn, Sinn checked it back.

After the {k-Diamonds} river, Keijzer checked the third street in a row and Sinn now bet 6,000. Once Keijzer called, after some consideration, Sinn tossed his cards into the muck to forfeit the pot.

Shaun Deeb

The 2022 World Series of Poker in its new home at Bally’s and Paris Las Vegas is gearing up for the next high-stakes highlight in the second week of the series. As of 1pm local time, four-card enthusiasts will be involved in the action on Day 1 of Event #19: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller as the second-most expensive Omaha tournament on this year's schedule gets underway in the purple section of the Paris Ballroom.

In 2021, the same tournament attracted a field of 212 entries and the $5,008,500 prize pool was shared among the top 32 finishers. Shaun Deeb won his fifth WSOP gold bracelet after coming out on top of a heads-up duel with PLO specialist Ka Kwan Lau, who was born in Hong Kong and resides in Spain. Among the notable finalists were also Veselin Karakitukov, David Benyamine, Ben Lamb and Tommy Le, all of whom are once again expected to join the action.

Players start with 150,000 chips and the first level features blinds of 200-300 with a big blind ante of 300. For the duration of this four-day tournament, levels will last 60 minutes each and the ante only counts as part of the pot after the flop. A total of ten levels are scheduled for Day 1 with a break every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after level six at approximately 7:30 p.m. local time.

Late registration for this PLO high-stakes contest remains open until the start of Level 13, which includes the first two levels and a break on Day 2, and will close at approximately 4:15 p.m. local time on Friday, June 10th. During the late registration period, all players can fire two re-entries if needed.

Defending champion Deeb has already cashed in three events during the 2022 WSOP. This includes a 28th place finish in Event #7: Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better and a 5th place in Event #12: High Roller No-Limit Hold'em 8-Handed, the latter of which came with a payday of $80,000. He has now cashed in 119 WSOP events and accumulated more than $6.6 million in earnings.

Other mixed game specialists that can be expected to join the fray include Jeremy Ausmus, Joao Vieira, Bryce Yockey, Gabriel Andrade, Jerry Wong, Chance Kornuth, Ian O'Hara, and Scott Seiver. Ben Diebold min-cashed in this event in 2021 and confirmed he will take part after securing his first WSOP gold bracelet in Event #10: $10,000 Dealer's Choice 6-Handed Championship two days ago.

Stay tuned for all of the four-card action from Las Vegas as the PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor to cover all the action from start to finish.
