Karakitukov Chips Up Without Showdown

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Joining the action on the {k-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, Veselin Karakitukov opted to check-call a bet worth 55,000 by Stephen Hubbard and the {4-Diamonds} turn was checked. After the {8-Spades} river, Karakitukov bet for what appeared to be 150,000 and Hubbard snap-folded.

Down to the Last 43 Players

Level 19 : 10,000/20,000, 20,000 ante

Brent Roberts got his short stack in with he {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{9-} and was up against Stephen Chidwick with the {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}. The aces were not cracked and that sent Roberts to the rail only a few spots away from the money bubble.

Shuda Doubles Through Trang

Level 18 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

In the last hand before the break, Gregory Shuda bolted out of his chair in celebration after he had just doubled through Christopher Trang, who was left with the head shaking.

Trang's {a-}{k-}{k-}{8-} were cracked by the {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts} of Shuda thanks to the {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds} board as Shuda turned the queen-high straight.

Yockey Eliminated by Ball

Level 18 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Bryce Yockey
Bryce Yockey

On a flop of {8-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}, Scott Ball in the hijack bet 70,000 and Bryce Yockey raised the pot for most of his medium stack. Ball then pushed over the top and Yockey called all-in for what appeared to be around 550,000.

Bryce Yockey: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Scott Ball: {7-Spades}{6-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

"Ouch, that's a big one," Yockey said when he saw the full wrap of Ball. He already fell behind on the {9-Diamonds} turn and failed to further improve to a full house on the {6-Diamonds} river to bow out a few spots shy of the money.

Mermelstein Shoves on Bleznick

Level 18 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Aaron Mermelstein opened to 50,000 in the cutoff, Jared Bleznick three-bet to 160,000 in the small blind, and Mermelstein called.

The dealer fanned the {j-Spades}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop, Bleznick led for 100,000, and Mermelstein shoved for approximately 450,000. Bleznick sent his cards into the muck to concede the pot.

Krentzman Still in Contention

Level 18 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

With the money bubble looming, Evan Krentzman first doubled through Gavin Cochrane and then was all-in once more when facing Ben Lamb. The dealer had just mucked Lamb's cards as Krentzman held the nuts with {a-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{3-Spades} for flopped broadway with the turned nut flush draw on a {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds} board.

Depa Loses Big Pot to Chen

Level 18 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
James Chen
James Chen

In a battle of the blinds, James Chen limp-called a raise to 45,000 and then check-called another two barrels by Jonathan Depa, which led to the {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades}{7-Diamonds} river. Chen checked once more and Depa fired a bet worth 475,000 only for Chen to move all-in for 645,000 total.

That sent Depa into a haze and he used some time bank extensions. Ultimately, Depa's costly move resulted in a fold and the near double up for Chen was awarded without any showdown.
