Negreanu Wins a Big One

Level 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu and Adrian Mateos
Daniel Negreanu and Adrian Mateos

With the board showing {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}, David Peters checked from under the gun. Negreanu led out for 35,000 from the button and Peters called.

Both players checked the {q-Clubs} turn and the {2-Diamonds} came on the river. Peters sized up a large bet of 180,000. Negreanu paused, pondered and then called, turning over {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} for the overpair to the board to take the pot while Peters tossed the losing hand in the muck.

Vogelsang Out, Updated Counts

Level 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Peters Collects Bounty From Badziakouski

Level 9 : 10,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

David Peters shoved and Mikita Badziakouski called with his remaining 175,000. The rest of the table got out of the way and Badziakouski was at risk.

Mikita Badziakouski: {k-Clubs}{5-Spades}
David Peters: {10-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}

Peters was ahead when the flop came {10-Spades}{9-Clubs}{a-Clubs}, but Badziakouski found a better pair with the {k-Spades} on the turn.

When the river came the {10-Clubs}, Peters made trip tens and Badziakouski was sent to the rail.

More Updated Chip Counts

Level: 9

Blinds: 10,000/15,000

Ante: 15,000

Some Updated Chip Counts

Level 8 : 5,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Elias Flames Out

Level 8 : 5,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Darren Elias had been left with crumbs following a run in with Nick Petrangelo and tossed his remaining 15,000 into the middle. Petrangelo called from the big blind to put Elias at risk.

Darren Elias: {q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Nick Petrangelo: {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}

Elias was drawing live and did improve to a pair on the {6-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{k-Spades} board. Sadly for him Petrangelo improved even more to a full house and Elias made a hasty exit from the tournament area.

Bujtas Doubles Through Sammartino

Level 8 : 5,000/15,000, 15,000 ante

Cards were on their backs on a {4-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop after Laszlo Bujtas called off following Dario Sammartino's all-in bet over Bujtas' initial bet.

Laszlo Bujtas: {a-Hearts}{a-Spades}
Dario Sammartino: {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

The {9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} runout couldn't improve Sammartino, and he lost a sizeable portion of his stack to Bujtas, who approaches the 1,000,000 chip mark.

Negreanu Shoves, Gets Called

Level 8 : 5,000/15,000, 15,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Brian Rast opened to 35,000 from the cutoff and action folded to Daniel Negreanu in the big blind, who promptly shoved for 400,000. Rast did not appear to be happy at the development but did end up making the call.

Daniel Negreanu: {a-Spades}{q-Hearts}
Brian Rast: {q-Spades}{j-Spades}

Negreanu was at risk but had Rast dominated and the Canadian could be heard to say "Rast is bounty hunting me." The board ran out {3-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs} and Negreanu made a pair of queens with the better kicker to leave Rast with crumbs.
