Friedman Calls Down vs Ivey

Level 16

Phil Ivey: {9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}/{x-}{x-}{x-}
Adam Friedman: {6-Hearts}{3-Spades}{5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}/{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}

It was another meeting of the minds between Adam Friedman and Phil Ivey as Ivey had the lead throughout and bet each street from fourth street through seventh street and each time Friedman met him with a call.

Ivey did not turn his hand over after the last call and Friedman tabled a simple pair of fives with {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades} which was good enough to win the pot.

Huge Pot for Gaspard Leaves Johnson Short

Level 16

Jean Gaspard: {8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}/{q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Marco Johnson: {2-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{j-Spades}/{x-}{x-}{x-}
Yuval Bronshtein: {x-}{x-}/{a-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} - folded fifth street

Marco Johnson defended his big blind despite multiple raises from Yuval Bronshtein and Jean Gaspard that saw each player contribute three 12,000 chip bets to the pot.

On fourth and fifth streets, Bronshtein checked to Gaspard, who bet. He was called by both opponents on fourth street, but only Johnson on fifth.

On sixth and seventh streets after Johnson checked, Gaspard continued firing out bets, with Johnson calling each time, seeing Gaspard roll over a queen-high flush at the end for the winner to send Johnson onto a very short stack.

Jean Gaspard: {10-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}/{x-}{x-} folded fifth street

Action was on fifth street as Brian Lieberman led with a pair of fours and he bet it. Cary Katz raised, Jean Gaspard got out of the way and Lieberman called.

Katz bet on sixth and seventh street and was called both times by Lieberman.

Adam Friedman

Adam Friedman: {10-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}/{9-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
David Prager: {2-Clubs}{a-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}/{x-}{x-}{x-}
Thomas Taylor: {x-}{x-}/{k-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades}{9-Hearts} - folded sixth street

After Thomas Taylor raised David Prager's bring-in, Adam Friedman made it three bets to go. Prager and Taylor both called and a big pot was brewing already.

On fourth street, Prager and Taylor checked to Friedman, who bet again, with both opponents calling.

Fifth street saw action check through, but sixth street saw Friedman bet after action was again checked to him. Only Prager called.

On seventh street, Prager called one more bet from Friedman, who said, "I've got it", as he rolled over a winning queen-high straight, sending his stack over 1,000,000 chips.

Freidman Wins "Interesting" Hand Vs Ivey

Level 15

Adam Friedman: {8-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs}{9-Spades}/{8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Phil Ivey: {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}/{x-}{x-}{x-}

Action was on fourth street as Phil Ivey bet his par of fours, Adam Friedman quickly raised and Ivey called.

Both players checked on fifth street. Ivey made trip fours on sixth and bet again, Friedman was right there was a quick call which elicited a slight eyebrow raise from Ivey as they went to seventh street. Ivey checked, Friedman bet and Ivey called.

Friedman tabled {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} for a full house which bested Ivey's hand.

A man of few words, Ivey simply said "Interesting" as he mucked his cards and sent the pot over to Friedman.

Cantu Bubbles $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship

Level 15
Brandon Cantu - Ben Diebold
Brandon Cantu - Ben Diebold

Brandon Cantu: {10-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}/{10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Hearts}{q-Hearts}/{x-}
Ben Diebold: {6-Diamonds}{10-Spades}/{a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{a-Clubs}/{q-Diamonds}

Brandon Cantu was all in on third street for his short stack against Ben Diebold. They waited to run the cards as it was hand-for-hand play with a big pot brewing on the adjacent table between Jean Gaspard and Randy Ohel, which Gaspard ended up winning with sixes full.

The cards were then dealt with Cantu starting out ahead with a pair of tens. Diebold hit the case ten on fourth street and then got two pair on sixth to leave Canto drawing dead before the river as he angrily chucked his river card into the air as he was the bubble boy.
