Raz's Magical Run Continues

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 12,000 ante
Yanni Raz
Yanni Raz

Shawn Buchanan raised to 16,000 from under the gun and received calls from Jon Kyte and Max Kruse. Yanni Raz then pushed his entire stack of 50,000 forward and Buchanan quickly mucked.

Kyte, though, announced he was all in and Kruse let out a loud sigh before folding.

"I love my Norweigan friend," Raz said as he stood pat and Kyte took one. Raz turned over No. 2, {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-}, and Kyte was already drawing dead.

Afterward, the table had to explain to the 2-7 newcomer that he had the second-best hand in the game.

Raz Running it Up

Level 17 : 4,000/8,000, 12,000 ante
Yanni Raz
Yanni Raz

"Bro, I warned you."

"Which way to the final table?"

"You've created a monster!"

These are all quotes from Yanni Raz as he just dragged a huge pot to elevate his stack to one of the biggest in the room.

After Jon Kyte raised under the gun and was called by Raz in the small blind and Shawn Buchanan in the big blind, each player drew one card.

Raz then led right out for 50,000. Buchanan folded, but Kyte asked to see Raz's stack. Upon seeing he had a total of 160,000, he moved all in, and Raz quickly called.

Raz showed {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for number two, which left Kyte shaking his head at Raz's recent heater which has seen him grow a very healthy stack.

Schwartz Runs Into the Nuts

Jake Schwartz
Jake Schwartz

Jake Schwartz jammed for his last 182,000 and Christina Hill couldn't get the chips in fast enough.

She stood pat, as did Schwartz, and last year's runner-up was already rising from his chair and heading for the exit as Hill showed {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-} for pat No. 1.

Battle of Blinds Ends Schneider's Day

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 15,000 ante
Tony Schneider
Tony Schneider

Tom Schneider raised to 25,000 in the small blind to Kane Kalas' big blind.

Kalas responded by moving all in for approximately 200,000 effective.

Schneider gave it some thought, then called to put his tournament life at risk.

He patted his hand correctly, as Kalas needed to draw one.

Schneider showed {9-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{2-}, which was up against Kalas' {8-}{6-}{5-}{3-}{x-}.

Kalas however managed to draw a seven to make a winning eight-seven, sending the 2007 WSOP Player of the Year to the rail.

Yaz Gives It Back

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 15,000 ante
Max Kruse
Max Kruse

Yanni Raz raised to 20,000 from under the gun. From the cutoff, Max Kruse shoved for his last 153,000.

"No guts, no glory," Raz said as he went into the tank for nearly five minutes.

"The problem is, I'm relying on one more card," he added before the tournament floor reminded him he couldn't talk about his hand before the draw.

Raz eventually called, repeating his "no guts, no glory" mantra, and turned over {7-}{6-}{4-}{3-} while drawing one. Kruse had a nine-six.

Needing and eight or a deuce to knock out the soccer star, Raz instead got a king and Kruse doubled up.

Danzer Done as Another POY is DOA

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 15,000 ante
George Danzer
George Danzer

Yuri Dzivielevski raised to 20,000 in the cutoff and was called by George Danzer in the big blind.

Danzer drew one, while Dzivielevski stood pat.

Danzer then led out for 70,000 and was met by an all-in bet from Dzivielevski.

The bet represented almost 100,000 more, and the 2014 WSOP Player of the Year went deep into the tank for almost five minutes before flicking in a call.

Dzivielevski showed {9-}{7-}{5-}{4-}{2-}, and Danzer tossed his cards into the muck, then pushed his chips across the table to the Brazillian, who is now near the chip lead.

Nawabi Climbing but Wary of Dzivielevski

Level 18 : 5,000/10,000, 15,000 ante

Yosif Nawabi raised to 20,000 and received calls by Matthew Rosen on the button and Ryan Leng in the big blind.

Leng took two, Nawabi stood pat, and Rosen drew one. Leng checked and Nawabi bet out 30,000. Only Rosen called.

"Nine-eight," Nawabi announced and Rosen mucked.

Despite sitting on a big stack himself, Nawabi's focus is on Yuri Dzivielevski sitting next to him, particularly his knockout of George Danzer.

"He's too good. There is no way you could beat him," he said of his Brazilian tablemate. "That man is a professional player and he did that to him. There is no way you're drawing live against him."

"Put me against the next five best players, please," Nawabi pleaded.

Leng was left with around 15,000 chips and was eliminated the next hand.
