Down and Up For Mather

Level 6 : 600/1,200, 100 ante

Limit Hold'em

In a three-way pot, Bob Mather called three times in position, on a {3-Spades}{2-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{a-Hearts} board and showed {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} for top pair on the river. But it was not enough against {a-Spades}{k-Spades} for Matthew Kursar, who had a better kicker. Kursar took that pot.

On the very next hand, Mather bet on the flop, the turn and the river, while his opponent Lou Perrone just check-called each time.
Mather showed {8-Clubs}{9-Hearts} for trip eight, and it was the winning hand.
