Solorzano Busts Jacks Before Break

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

The hijack had raised to 2,500 before the cutoff, Orlando Solorzano reraised to 7,500. Action folded to the big blind, who had the clock called on him as he took his time making his decision. Just before the clock hit 0, he moved all in. The hijack got out of the way before Solorzano made the call with his opponent covered.

Opponent: {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Solorzano: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

Solorzano was behind, but that changed quickly when the {5-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} flop paired his king, but it did also give his opponent a flush draw. That draw wouldn't hit though, as the board finished {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}, locking up the last pot before dinner for Solorzano, as his opponent was sent to the rail.

Gordon's Pair Wins Three-way Pot

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Action was picked up after the button had moved all in, getting calls from Arnaldo Gordon in late position as well as the hijack.

Gordon and the hijack checked all the way through as the board came {8-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}. Gordon turned over {10-Clubs}{q-Clubs} good for a pair, while the hijack showed {k-Hearts}{9-Hearts}. The button tossed his hand in the muck, wishing the table good luck as he collected his things and headed for the rail. Gordon scooped the pot to add to his impressive stack which is closing in on the 100,000 mark.

Chuaprasert Doubles Up as Paris Tables Break

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Rittie Chuaprasert and Ran Ilani were the last two players with action in Paris, as the last handful of tables were breaking and heading to Bally's. Action was picked up on the turn, with about 45,000 already in the pot and a board of {4-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} having been dealt.

Chuaprasert moved all in with the effective stack of 26,100. After a brief moment of thought and an official count from the dealer, Ilani made the call.

Rittie Chuaprasert: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Ran Ilani: {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Chuaprasert was ahead with his pair of aces, but Ilani had a flush draw that Chuaprasert would need to dodge. He was able to do so successfully, as the {9-Hearts} arrived on the river, locking up the pot and the double up for Chuaprasert as he, and the rest of the remaining players in Paris, bagged their chips to prepare for the trek over to Bally's where they will continue play.

De Silva Comes From Behind to Double

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Upeshka De Silva
Upeshka De Silva

A player in the cutoff opened and action folded to Upeshka De Silva in the small blind, who moved all in for 13,600. The cutoff player, who had the larger stack, mulled over his decision before eventually making the call to put De Silva at risk.

Upeshka de Silva: {a-Spades}{9-Spades}
Cutoff Player: {a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

De Silva was behind and would need to alot of help to survive. That help came immediately on the {2-Spades}{5-Clubs}{9-Clubs} flop, giving De Silva top pair. The {4-Spades} turn and {4-Hearts} river kept De Silva ahead, securing him a double up to just above starting stack.

Johnston Flops a Set to Bust Aces

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante

Perry Johnston raised to 2,500 from early position. Ran Ilani made the call in middle position, before a reraise to 7,000 came from late position. Johnston made the call while Ilani got out of the way.

On the {2-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop, Johnston's opponent continued for 8,000. Johnston moved all in, and after a brief moment or two, his opponent, the at risk player, called, asking "Did you flop a set?" as she did so. "If you flopped a set you're good."

Opponent: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Perry Johnston: {2-Hearts}{2-Spades}

His opponent was right about his hand, but not about her decision to call, as she was well behind and drawing thin with her tournament life on the line. The {j-Hearts} turn and {k-Diamonds} river did nothing to change that, and she was sent to the rail while Johnston added to his stack, which has grown to be amongst the largest in the field.
