McKenna Eliminated, Hand for Hand Play Begins

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Michael McKenna
Michael McKenna

Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better

One hand after doubling up against Jeff Madsen, Michael McKenna called a preflop raise from Andres Korn on the button. Ben Lamb called from the small blind to see the {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} flop. Another round of bets led all three players to the {2-Clubs} turn.

Lamb led out and Korn raised before McKenna moved over the top for almost all of his remaining chips. Lamb folded, but Korn obliged and slid in enough chips to cover McKenna. Both players turned up their hands.

Michael McKenna: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}
Andres Korn: {8-Hearts}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Diamonds}

McKenna was trailing after Korn spiked the case deuce, and was unable to improve on the river just missing out on the money.

Two Short Stack Doubles Near the Bubble

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo

Maxx Coleman: {k-Spades}{4-Spades} / {a-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{a-Clubs} / {7-Clubs}
Kosei Ichinose: {2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} / {2-Spades}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} / {x-}

Kosei Ichinose was all-in on fifth with a set of deuces and Maxx Coleman had some outs with aces on sixth but bricked seventh to dash out the double.

Shortly after, Michael Parizon had all the low cards in a Seven Card Stud hand against Philip Long, ending up with the {2-Clubs}{a-Clubs} / {2-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Hearts} / {3-Diamonds} for the full double.

Long took another hit when Jerry Wong made queens and sevens as the tense action near the bubble continued.

Yockey Hits Trips, Eliminates Veltri

Level 16 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
John Veltri
John Veltri

Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better

John Veltri: {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} / {4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}
Bryce Yockey: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} / {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{7-Hearts}
Maxx Coleman: {x-}{x-} / {8-Clubs}{4-Spades}{j-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} / {x-}

John Veltri completed for much of his short stack, and committed the rest of his chips once Maxx Coleman raised and Bryce Yockey three-bet. This forced Aaron Kupin out of the pot, leaving the action three ways with Veltri at risk.

Yockey bet every street the rest of the way, finding calls from Coleman each time. Yockey revealed three kings to beat Coleman, and Veltri was unable to find help with his down cards to end his run.

Lamb Takes From Volpe

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Seven Card Stud

Ben Lamb: {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} / {k-Clubs}{4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} / {j-Clubs}
Paul Volpe: {x-}{x-} / {7-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} / {x-}

Ben Lamb and Paul Volpe were heads up to fifth street, where Volpe raised and was called. Lamb then called bets on sixth and seventh to showdown, where both players announced "two pair". Lamb's kings and queens were best, earning a big pot near the bubble.

Yu Eliminated Before the Money

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Ben Yu
Ben Yu

Limit Hold'em

Ben Yu was all-in out of the big blind following a button raise by Travis Trail and a small blind three-bet by Andres Korn. Trail came along and Korn folded the {8-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{4-Hearts} flop when Trail bet.

Ben Yu: {k-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Travis Trail: {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

The {10-Spades} turn and {3-Spades} river were both blanks for Yu to hit the rail in the last hand of the level.

It's a Long Grind for All Contestants

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Omaha Hi-Lo

With 36 players remaining and 32 in the money, the bubble may seem near but several split pot games in the rotation ensure that it could take a long time until the money is reached.

The most recent showdown hand on table 144 featured a cutoff four-bet by Eric Rodawig and Philip Long called in the small blind as the three-bettor. Long check-called the {a-Clubs}{9-Spades}{4-Spades} flop and they checked down the {3-Diamonds} turn and {5-Diamonds} river.

The Brit flashed the {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for two pair first and Rodawig instantly replied "no good", showed his {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{8-Diamonds} to win the pot with a set of aces.

Level 15 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Long bet the river and took down the pot after after Racener mucked his hand.
