Kabrhel Takes From Seiver

Level 5 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Martin Kabrhel, Scott Seiver, and the tournament director were having a complicated discussion over Kabrhel's obligation to forfeit a time bank, but that did not stop the action.

Kabrhel raised to 25,000 from under the gun and Seiver called from the cutoff before Liron Shimon came along from the big blind. The flop was {k-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} and all three players checked.

The turn was {2-Clubs} and Shimon checked again. Kabrhel bet 65,000 and Seiver called while Shimon got out of the way. The river was {8-Diamonds}.

Both players checked the river and Kabrhel turned over {k-Spades}{q-Clubs} to take the pot with a pair of kings. Seiver tossed the losing hand into the muck.

The situation with the time bank was resolved with Kabrhel forced to submit an extension for going over his allotted time in a previous hand, but the Czech player was still pleading his case at the time of print.

Smith Gives Up on the River

Level 5 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Sam Soverel raised to 25,000 in early position and picked up calls from Koray Aldemir, Dan Smith, and Daniel Negreanu. Steven Veneziano three-bet to 105,000 in the big blind and everyone called except for Soverel.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs} and the action checked around to the {a-Spades} on the turn. Smith was the first to take a stab at the pot with a bet of 125,000 in the cutoff. Negreanu folded, Veneziano called, and Aldemir also got out of the way.

The river was the {4-Spades} and Veneziano quickly checked again. Smith gave it his full attention but decided to check it back. Veneziano flipped over {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for two pair and Smith conceded the pot.

Set Over Set Cooler Sends Petrangelo to the Top and Brewer Out

Level 5 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Nick Petrangelo and Chris Brewer were heads-up in a pot with the board reading {10-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{k-Spades} and the pot was already substantially large. After a couple of bets on the turn, the two players got all of their chips in the middle with Brewer being the player at risk.

Petrangelo tabled {9-Spades}{9-Clubs} for a set of nines while Brewer was in rough shape with {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}. The {j-Diamonds} landed on the river and Brewer was eliminated while Petrangelo soared to the top of the chip counts.

Ponakovs' Top Pair is Enough

Level 5 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Mikita Badziakouski raised to 23,000 from under the gun and was called by Bryn Kenney on the button and Christoph Vogelsang in the small blind. Aleksejs Ponakovs re-raised to 100,000 from the big blind and only Vogelsang called.

The flop fell {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{9-Spades} and Vogelsang check-called a bet of 35,000 from Ponakovs. The turn was the {q-Hearts} which slowed the action as both players checked to the {6-Diamonds} on the river. Two more checks and Vogelsang showed {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} while Ponakovs held {k-Spades}{j-Spades} for two pair to win the pot.

Vogelsang Gets Away From One

Level 5 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Christoph Vogelsang raised to 25,000 from under the gun and action folded around to Bryn Kenney, who defended the big blind. The flop was {10-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}.

Kenney check-called a 20,000 bet from Vogelsang and the turn was {10-Clubs}. Kenney switched gears on the river and led with a bet of 30,000. It was too much for Vogelsang and he got away from it to give up the pot.

Aldemir Goes for a Bluff on the River

Level 5 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

A completed board of {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}{4-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades} was spread across the felt with a little over 100,000 in the middle. Koray Aldemir checked from the big blind and Dario Sammartino announced a bet of 95,000 from the hijack.

Aldemir went into the tank, using one of his time banks before putting together a raise to 326,000. Sammartino reluctantly made the call and Aldemir flashed the {4-Clubs}. Sammartino turned over {a-Clubs}{8-Spades} for trip aces and claimed the pot.
