Pelon Cracks Aces to Move Past Ten Million

Level 27 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Jordan Pelon emerged as the tournament chip leader just before break and wasted no time in adding to his stack after it.

Damian Kucharski moved all in for 1,600,000 over a pre-flop raise by Pelon, and Pelon called after some consideration.

Damian Kucharski: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}
Jordan Pelon: {a-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

As Kucharski took out his phone and began filming, the {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Spades} flop remained safe for him, but the {8-Diamonds} on the turn improved Pelon to a straight. A collective gasp rose from the table as the {3-Diamonds} on the river was a mere formality.

Menesplier Forces Out Lamanna, Busts One

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

An under-the gun player moved all in for 875,000 and Brian Lamanna called in middle position.

From the small blind, Arnaud Menesplier then re-shoved for 2,200,000 and sent Lamanna into the tank for several minutes before folding, claiming he had ace-king.

The under-the-gun player showed {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}, while Menesplier had {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}. The board came {2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Menesplier received a huge boost to his stack just as players prepared to go on break.

Big Slick Does the Trick for Fangayen

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Daxton Alexander got his stack of around 600,000 all in preflop and found himself at risk against Bayani Fangayen.

Bayani Fangayen: {a-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Daxton Alexander: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

Daxton Alexander was dominated and looking for some help. The {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs} flop provided some "chop-portunities" but that was about it.

The running {q-Spades} turn and {a-Spades} river meant both players wound up with two pair, but that meant the kicker played. Fangayen was best in that department and sent Alexander to the payout desk.

Davila Triples Up Against Matching Ace-King

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Jon Kyte preserved on his phone a photo of a three-way all in he just played against Stella Davila.

According to Kyte, he raised to 175,000 from under the gun before Davila shoved for 1,200,000. The player in the big blind re-shoved for 2,400,000 and Kyte called both players.

Kyte and the big blind both showed ace-king, while Davila had pocket fives. The board ran out {4-}{3-}{7-}{j-}{j-} and Davila tripled up at the expense of Kyte and the big blind.

Boctor Shows Tens to "JoeytheMush"

Level 26 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

Ramy Boctor limped in from under the gun before Joey Straub, aka "JoeytheMush," raised to 250,000. Boctor called and they went heads-up to a {5-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop.

Boctor checked over to Straub, who continued with a bet of 225,000. Boctor again called, and the two players checked down the {7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} turn and river.

"Tens," Boctor announced, showing {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} as Straub mucked. Despite losing that pot, "JoeytheMush" is still sitting comfortably around 3,000,000.

Kushell, Once Ready to Leave, Now Near Chip Lead

Level 25 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

"Is everyone filming this," a player at the table said as Bob Kushell and two opponents had all their chips in the middle pre-flop, with several players taking out their phones to record the action. Both players were in for around 900,000.

Kushell showed {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} and was up against {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}. The board ran out {2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{j-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} and Kushell's pocket kings held up to bust both opponents.

"Nice hand, sir. I hate to die like that," one of the defeated foes told him after the hand. "See you at the final table. Some of those chips are mine."

According to the table, Kushell was down to 90,000 at one point today and was preparing to leave and go play another tournament. Instead, he's now among the chip leaders.
