Garza Doubles Two Times Through Yockey

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Limit 2-7 Triple Draw

Bryce Yockey raised from under the gun and then called the all-in by Ap Garza for 130,000 total. It was fair game on the first draw with both discarding two and Garza then took one for the second draw while Yockey remained with two new cards.

On the final draw, Garza patted and Yockey took one. The {8-}{6-}{5-}{4-}{2-} of Garza had a lock already because Yockey's {9-}{7-}{6-}{2-} draw couldn't win it.

Yockey then lost a pot to Daniel Weinman when he couldn't beat a ten-eight and the next clash with Garza followed.

Garza made it three bets for 240,000 total in the cutoff and Yockey just flat-called in the small blind. On the first draw, Yockey took two while Garza took one and Yockey initially wanted to check-call only but then got it in anyways for the 80,000 Garza had left behind.

The second draw brought the same action once more as Yockey required two cards while Garza took one. On the final draw, Yockey took two and Garza patted to then show his {10-}{8-}{7-}{6-}{3-}. Yockey's {5-}{4-}{2-} needed help but he spiked the {k-} right away to secure another double up for Garza, which made the {3-} a formality.

"Just win?" Weinman joked and Yockey replied back with a big smile and the "it's not for a lack of trying, I am in every fuckin pot."

The Great Garza Spinup Continues

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Ap Garza
Ap Garza

No-Limit Hold'em

After Daniel Weinman raised to 70,000 from the button and Matthew Gonzales called in the small blind, Ap Garza moved all in from the big blind for 565,000.

Weinman thought briefly, then called, sending Gonzales into the tank.

Gonzales verbally deliberated his decision, chatting with his potential opponents, then referencing his earlier comment to the PokerNews reporting team said, "I dunno if I can f***," eliciting a laugh from his tablemates.

After a couple more minutes, Gonzales settled on a fold, leaving Weinman to try to eliminate Garza.

Ap Garza: {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Daniel Weinman: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}

The flop came {q-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}, putting Garza in the lead. On the {9-Spades} turn, Garza grabbed his bag and started walking away from the table, not realizing he had a winning king-high straight. As the dealer put the {a-Clubs} on the river, his tablemates told Garza that he had won with a Broadway straight.

"Oh s***, I just saw the eights and his straight," said Garza as he sat back down to gather his now very healthy stack, which at one point was under a single big blind and is now over a million again.

Yockey Short After Losing Out to Weinman

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Seven Card Stud

Daniel Weinman: {x-}{x-} / {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} / {x-}
Bryce Yockey: {x-}{x-} / {j-Spades}{9-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{k-Spades} / {x-}

Daniel Weinman bet on fourth street and called a raise from Bryce Yockey. Weinman check-called on both fifth and sixth street, then checked dark before seventh street was dealt.

Yockey bet and Weinman got to his feet and peered over at Yockey's board before calling.

"Kings up," said Yockey but Weinman showed {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}{2-Spades} for aces up and won the pot.

"Thought I had it," said Yockey who fell to less than 250,000 in chips shortly before the end of the night.

Cates Takes From Ashton

Level 18 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Seven Card Stud

Matthew Ashton: {x-}{x-} / {4-Hearts}{k-Hearts}{6-Spades}{10-Diamonds} / {x-}
Dan Cates: {x-}{x-} / {q-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Spades} / {x-}

In the hand just prior, Benny Glaser was unable to get Matthew Ashton off a pair of sevens with his open board of {j-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{10-Diamonds} and he dropped below 1.5 million while Ashton dragged in the pot with a pair of sevens.

Ashton then limped in and called once Dan Cates completed. On fourth and fifth street, Ashton bet his advantage for Cates to call, who then bet sixth street when checked to. Ashton also checked seventh street and Cates bet to force a quick fold, further pulling ahead at the top of the leaderboard.

At nearly the same time, Johannes Becker had a potential four-card straight showing against fellow German High Roller Koray Aldemir, who tank-called with a pair of tens showing. Becker revealed a six-high straight with a busted straight flush draw and raked in the pot to surpass Aldemir on the leaderboard.

Bryce Yockey Eliminated in 14th Place ($100,866)

Seven Card Stud

Lou Garza: {q-Clubs}{2-Spades} / {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{k-Diamonds} / {6-Diamonds}
Bryce Yockey: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} / {2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} / {a-Clubs}

Lou Garza completed and then called the raise by Bryce Yockey with a grin and "guess I gotta give you action after that". Yockey replied with a "you don't have to, I prefer to take it right here" but they headed to fourth street on which Yockey bet and had 40,000 behind.

Garza called and Yockey bet all-in in the dark to receive the call for all cards until then to get revealed.

Yockey was ahead with his high-card but Garza gained tons of equity on sixth with the four-card straight.

"Should I go first?" Garza asked and he then agreed with Yockey to flip over the last card at the exact same time. Garza nailed the straight and Yockey's pair of aces went down in flames as he was ousted in 14th place for $100,866.
