Gonzalez Flattened by Fourie

Level 9 : 1,000/1,500, 1,500 ante
Matthew Gonzales
Matthew Gonzales

Matthew Gonzalez just alerted the PokerNews reporting team to a beat he recently took that saw him lose a large portion of his stack.

Gonzalez called a raise from Conrad Fourie preflop, then on a {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-} flop, the duo alternated raises until all the money was in the middle for a roughly 200,000 chip pot.

Gonzalez held {q-}{q-}{7-}{4-} for a set of sevens, while Fourie held {a-Clubs}{k-}{j-Clubs}{j-} for a pair of kings with a flush draw.

The turn brought a {j-}, giving Fourie a full house of jacks full of sevens, with the river {2-} changing nothing to send the huge pot to Fourie.
