Assorted Counts in the Field

Level 14 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Cox Chips Up Further

Level 14 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

On the river of a {j-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Diamonds} board, Michael Cox bet 100,000 even and was eventually called by James Mendoza. The {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{7-Hearts} of Cox were good enough for a full house and he chipped up further while Mendoza dropped well below the average.

Triple Up for Urbanovich

Level 14 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Dzmitry Urbanovich was already all-in out of the big blind and awaited his fate with Vivian Saliba in the cutoff and Koray Aldemir in the small blind left to act. Both active players checked the {q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} flop and there was no betting action either on the {3-Hearts} turn and {9-Hearts} river.

Saliba flashed a king-queen high double-suited club and spades combo while Aldemir had the {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}. However, Urbanovich had both beat with the {10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Clubs} for a turned straight and rivered flush as he tripled up to get back into contention.

Calvo Shuts Down Shak

Level 14 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Dan Shak
Dan Shak

On a five-way turn with the board reading {j-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and a little over 60,000 in the pot, Dan Shak fired a bet of 55,000 from the cutoff.

Luis Calvo came over top with an all-in check-raise from the small blind. The rest of the table folded back to Shak who called for about 50,000 more to put his tournament life at risk.

Dan Shak: {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Spades}
Luis Calvo: {7-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}

Calvo's set of sevens was ahead, but Shak had a pair of flush draws to work with.

The {k-Clubs} on the river brought neither of Shak's draws in and he was sent to the rail.

Medarov Gets a Shove Through Against Shalom

Level 14 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Vasil Medarov
Vasil Medarov

With a medium-sized pot already underway, the {q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}{3-Spades} turn brought a bet worth 88,000 by Roee Shalom. That sent Vasil Medarov into the tank and he counted his remaining stack before calling with 48,000 behind.

Shalom checked the {j-Diamonds} on the river and Medarov then moved all-in to force a near instant fold by Shalom.

Seidensticker's Wheel Runs Over Napierala

Level 14 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Tim Seidensticker
Tim Seidensticker

On a river board of {q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Spades}{k-Spades}{4-Clubs} and over 100,000 in the pot, Tim Seidensticker, who spent a good portion of Day 1 near the top of the chip counts placed a bet of 53,000 from the small blind which represented most of his opponent, Blake Napierala's stack.

After a couple of minutes of thought, Napierala put out calling chips to see the bad news.

Seidensticker showed {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} for a rivered wheel.

Napierala mucked his hand and squeezed his remaining chips tightly in frustration at losing the critical hand which has left him on a short stack.

Bojang Sent Back to the Drawing Board

Level 13 : 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Stephen Hubbard had raised and then faced the three-bet by Ismael Bojang before Michael Cox four-bet jammed for 81,000 total. After some consideration, Hubbard folded and Bojang tossed in the extra chips.

Michael Cox: {a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Clubs}
Ismael Bojang: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

The clubs of Cox were dominated but he got there via runner-runner on the {q-Spades}{j-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs} board as he made a straight to send Bojang back below the starting stack.
