Burchfield Chips Up With Plenty of Relief

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Kris Burchfield
Kris Burchfield

On the tail end of a heads-up pot between Kris Burchfield in the hijack and Philip Wiszowaty on the button, the former bet 23,000 on the {q-Clubs}{10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Clubs} river. Wiszowaty tanked for a long time and eventually folded as Burchfield was instantly relieved.

"Holy shit, I was just trying not to call on the river," he said with a big smile on the face before raking in the pot.

Seiver Chips Up Through Goya

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Scott Seiver
Scott Seiver

Scott Seiver raised in the cutoff and was called by Dante Goya in the big blind. The {q-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop was checked and Goya also checked the {7-Diamonds} on the turn. Seiver now bet 14,000 and Goya called before he checked once more on the {k-Spades} river.

The final bet by Seiver was worth 45,000 and Goya eventually paid it off to then sigh "nice river" upon being shown the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs} for kings full by Seiver.

Sadou Ends Teliani's Day in Huge Pot

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Nohad Teliani
Nohad Teliani

After Nohad Teliani raised to 15,000 in the hijack, she was three-bet to 60,000 by Firas Sadou in the cutoff.

Teliani called to see a flop of {6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{a-Spades} and the fireworks began.

Teliani led out for 80,000 and after a brief pause, Sadou moved all in for approximately 120,000 more. Teliani snap-called and a huge pot, as well as Teliani's tournament life was at stake.

Nohad Teliani: {5-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Spades}
Firas Sadou: {a-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{9-Spades}

Sadou had top set of aces, but Teliani had a world of outs with straight and flush draws.

The turn brought Teliani one of those outs with the {8-Diamonds} to give her the straight, but the board-pairing {8-Clubs} on the river crushed Teliani's hopes, and after approaching 500,000 chips not long ago, her day is now done.

Marji Binks a Solid Double

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

"I thought it was one of those times when we both have aces," Melad Marji said after he had just doubled through an opponent. It was the {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} of Marji up versus {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and the double-suited kings failed to get there on the {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} runout as Marji doubled.

Calvo Cuts into Salazar's Chip Lead

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Luis Calvo just alerted the PokerNews reporting team to a recent hand where he managed to slow down the steamroller that's been Aden Salazar.

According to Calvo, Salazar raised to 20,000 in the cutoff and he called.

As the board came {8-}{5-}{k-}{k-}{7-}, the players checked the flop, then Salazar check-called bets of 40,000 on the turn and 80,000 on the river.

Calvo showed {5-}{5-}{3-}{3-} for flopped trips and a turned full house to take the healthy pot.

Ziegelbecker Jams Up His Stack

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Three ways to the {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} flop, Oswin Ziegelbecker checked in the big blind and so did Maksim Reshetov in the hijack. Stephen Hubbard then bet 40,000 in the cutoff and Ziegelbecker responded with a check-raise to 140,000. Reshetov got out of the way while Hubbard quickly called.

Once the {10-Diamonds} fell on the turn. Ziegelbecker moved all-in and Hubbard conceded the pot with the words "you win".

Yotsushika Pays Off Morin

Level 15 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

The completed board showed {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{j-Clubs} and Austin Morin in the big blind made it 35,000 to go.

Kazuhiko Yotsushika was in the under-the-gun seat and mulled it over for quite some time. Once he called, Yotsushika placed the seven T-5,000 chips very close to Morin, fully expecting to be beat. Morin turned over the {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a flush and that indeed won the pot.

"You just had to see it to sleep well at night, eh" Nithin Eapen remarked with a smile on the face.
