Panka's River Jam Backfires

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Dominik Panka
Dominik Panka

As the players went on break, one hand was still playing out. Dominik Panka opened from under the gun and was called by Nicolas Vayssieres in the big blind. Vayssieres check-raised to 140,000 after Panka bet 40,000 on the {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. Panka decided to call.

Vayssieres continued for 145,000 on the {7-Clubs} turn and again Panka called.

On the {2-Spades} river sparks ignited after the Frenchman fired for 320,000. Not content with the bet, Panka moved his stack in for 1,300,000 and was snap-called by his opponent. Panka could only show ace-high with his {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} while Vayssieres had the {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for a set. The victor had the superior stack and sent Panka to the rail.

Olonoh Takes One

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

With a raise to 60,000 from Thomas MacDonald on the button, Adekunle Olonoh in the big blind was already in for half and called. The flop came down {q-Clubs}{9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Olonoh check-called a 55,000 bet from MacDonald.

The {j-Clubs} showed up on the turn and both players checked.

With the {6-Hearts} falling on the river, Olonoh tossed out a 60,000 bet and took down the pot as his opponent folded.

Hallay Continues Climb

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Action was caught with around 600,000 in the middle on the {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{q-Clubs}{3-Clubs} board.

Abhinav Iyer checked in the small blind before Axel Hallay continued for 200,000 from the hijack. Iyer called.

The {3-Clubs} river checked through. Iyer tabled {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a pair of tens but he was beaten by Hallay's {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}, which was good for top pair.

Champlin Gets Lucky

Level 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

With a board of {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{q-Spades} showing, Joseph Finocchiaro bet 100,000. Spencer Champlin responded by shoving all in and Finocchiaro snap called.

Spencer Champlin: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
Joseph Finocchiaro: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

"Noooo! The worst card!" Finocchiaro said as he saw his opponents straight over his set of kings. The {5-Spades} on the river offered nothing more to help Finocchiaro's hand and while he's still in the game, his stack had quite the dent taken out of it.
