Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Cary Katz shoved all in from under the gun for 230,000 and received a call from Axel Hallay in middle position. The remaining players got out of the way to let these two battle it out.

Cary Katz: {k-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}
Axel Hallay: {a-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and with no pairs for either of them, Hallay's ace-high was good to take down the pot and sent Katz to the rail.

Etheridge Gets a Knockout

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Preflop action had Brian Keith Ethridge raising to 80,000 and getting re-raised by Jonathan Borenstein's all-in for 550,000. Ethridge double checked his cards and called.

"I just had to make sure I had aces." Ethridge said laughing.

Brian Keith Ethridge: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}
Jonathan Borenstein: {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

The flop came down {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} giving Borenstein an open-ended straight draw. The {10-Hearts} on the turn and {q-Hearts} on the river didn't help him out any though and Ethridge took down the pot and knocked Borenstein out of the tournament.

Champlin Bows Out

Level 24 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Santiago Plante opened the action before Spencer Champlin made it 600,000 in late position. Plante jammed as the superior stack and Champlin called off his remaining 200,000.

Spencer Champlin: {j-Spades}{10-Spades}
Santiago Plante: {8-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

Champlin looked to be in control of the pot following the {q-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} flop but the {8-Diamonds} turn put Plante ahead with a set. The {7-Hearts} river gave the big stack a full house and Champlin exited the tournament area.
