Grafton Hits the Miracle Shot

Level 7 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Sam Grafton
Sam Grafton

Sam Gafton opened to 12,000 from middle position before a short-stacked player went all in for about 100,000. Grafton didn't think too long before he made his decision.

He threw his cards up, spinning majestically through the air until one of them found a home in Dak Shak's coffee cup.

Shak dug out the dripping wet and now caffeinated {5-Hearts} while the dealer called the floor for a replacement.

"Look what he's done," said Grafton, throwing the blame to Shak when the floor arrived. "He's dunked it, he thought it was a donut. This isn't Dunkin' Donuts Dan. This is a serious tournament."

Sometimes to need a five of hearts in Dan Shak's coffee to liven up the table. Sam Grafton always helps too.

Zufic Gets it All From Aggressive Opponent

Level 7 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

A middle position player opened to 14,000 before Ivan Zufic immediately three-bet from the cutoff to 39,000. The opener made the call and went to the flop heads up.

{9-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs} hit the flop and action checked to Zufic who put out a bet of 25,000. His opponent check-raised to 75,000. After about 15 seconds, Zufic made the call.

The turn brought the {j-Spades}. Zufic's opponent then went all in for about 80,000 and Zufic quickly called.

Zufic: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {8-Hearts}{10-Hearts}

The river {10-Spades} wasn't enough and Zufic took down the pot and eliminated his opponent.

"He check-raised that flop," said Dan Shak.

"And hit that turn, nothing he could do but go all-in there," smirked Sam Grafton.

"I mean, he didn't have any backdoor flush, he couldn't just call that flop," chuckled Shak. "He could have been drawing dead instead of picking up eight outs."

However it happened, all the chips went to Zufic who was happy to get them.

Three Pair is Good for Hall

Level 7 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Galen Hall
Galen Hall

Action picked up on the turn with about 130,000 in the middle. The board read {4-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{q-Spades}.

Galen Hall was in the big blind and checked the river to his opponent in middle position. After some thought, he checked it back as well.

Hall turned over {4-Spades}{8-Spades} for flopped two pair.

"Two pair," announced the dealer.

"Three pair," Galen spoke up.

However you call it, it was good enough to take the pot.

Young Ousts Mateos

Level 7 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

Antonio Lievano raised to 12,000 from under the gun and Justin Young called from the next seat over. Adrian Mateos three-bet to 60,000 from the button. The blinds and Lievano ducked out of the way and Young called.

The flop was {6-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades} and Mateos continued for 45,000. Young shoved for over 200,000 and Mateos called with just less.

Adrian Mateos: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Justin Young: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}

Mateos was ahead with poicket kings but Young had a live flush draw. The turn was {6-Diamonds} and the river was {7-Spades}, bringing the flush for Young to knock Mateos out of the tournament.

Defending Champ Hits the Rail

Level 6 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante

Ben Lamb raised to 12,000 from middle position and Tyler Cornell shoved his small stack into the middle from the big blind. Lamb called and action was heads up with Cornell at risk for around 50,000.

Tyler Cornell: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Ben Lamb: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{7-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and the ace-king held for Lamb to send Cornell to the rail as the third break of the evening draws near.

Kaverman Has the Bullets

Level 6 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Byron Kaverman
Byron Kaverman

Byron Kaverman opened in middle position to 11,000 and was immediately three-bet by the player on his left to 32,000.

The player on the button then four-bet to 225,000.

Kaverman thought for about a minute before deciding to go all in himself. The in-between player folded quickly.

Kaverman revealed the goods with {a-Spades}{a-Clubs} and the button player had {a-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}.

The flop offered little help when {4-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} showed up. The turn kept hope alive with the {7-Diamonds}. All Kaverman needed to dodge was a diamond, and all the river offered was the {k-Spades}.
