The 2022 WSOP at Bally's and Paris Las Vegas continues today with the kickoff of the always competitive Event 8: $25,000 High Roller No-Limit Hold'em in the Paris Ballroom.
The exciting high roller events consistently attract a plethora of top-name professionals in the poker world. That promises to be the case today when the second high roller event on this year's schedule gets going this afternoon at 1 p.m. local time.
Last year, Tyler Cornell claimed his maiden gold bracelet, besting a field of 139 entrants and claiming the $833,289 up top.

The $25,000 buy-in will get players a starting stack of 150,000. Levels will be 60-minutes with 15-minute breaks taking place every two levels. Day 1 will feature eight levels of play, and registration will be open all the way until the beginning of Day 2 tomorrow, which is also scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
There will undoubtedly be no shortage of action as the biggest names in the poker world collide in search of gold bracelet glory.

The tournament director has set things in motion and play has begun. Players start with 150 big blinds and six time banks with a 30-second shot clock in play.

Action picked up on the flop with the board showing . Bill Klein checked to Thomas Boivin, the in-position player, who put out a bet of 6,000 into a pot of 16,000.
Klein check-raised to 16,000. Boivin called.
When the fell and made the board even more connected and Klein didn't stop firing. He bet of 31,000 and after thinking for 30 seconds, Boivin let his cards go and Klein scooped the early pot.

Action arrived on the river with a pot of about 24,000 and Ben Lamb making a 9,000 river bet. The board read .

Mustapha Kanit raised to 3,000 from middle position and Lenoard Maue three-bet to 10,000 from the button. The blinds got out of the way and Kanit tossed in chips to call.
The flop was and Kanit checked. Maue bet 11,000 and Kanit called to see the turn.

Kanit shoved the river and Maue called with little hesitation for his last 104,000 while turning over for a pair of nines. Kanit showed before tossing the bluff in the muck.
