Phil Ivey: {a-}{j-}
David Peters: {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}

The board ran out queen-high and Ivey was eliminated. David Peters has spun up his short stack quickly to about 45 big blinds.

Elsewhere, Sam Grafton, Ariel Martel, Dan Shak, and Ivan Deyra were all eliminated as well.

Back From Dinner

Level 15 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Players have returned from their dinner break to level 15. They will have four more levels of play before bagging for Day 3 tomorrow.

Brewer Calls to Oust Pirault

Level 15 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

One of the biggest pots of the day was in the middle along with the full board of {7-Clubs}{q-Spades}{a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Chris Brewer checked and Francois Pirault shoved his last 555,000 into the middle. Brewer asked for a count before he went into the tank to consider his options. After using multiple time banks, Brewer put out a stack of chips to call.

"Nice hand," said Pirault as he tabled {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} for a pair of kings.

Brewer showed {a-Clubs}{j-Spades} to take the pot with a pair of aces and eliminate Pirault.

Schutten's No Pair is Best

Level 15 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Brek Schutten
Brek Schutten

Rok Gostisa opened from early position and was three-bet to 250,000 by Brek Schutten on the button. Gostisa continued with a call, leaving himself about 380,000 behind.

The flop came {4-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}. Gostisa checked in flow to Schutten, who went all in, having Gostisa well covered. Gostisa thought for about 20 seconds and made the call.

Rok Gostisa: {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}
Brek Schutten: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

The turn {x-Spades} gave Gostisa many more outs, but the blank river ended his day and left the table scratching their heads.

"That's what happens when you don't have a computer," said Alex Foxen.

Either way, Schutten was happy to collect the chips without having to make a pair.

Over at the next table, Freddy Deeb also busted and headed to the rail.

Rast Chips Up With Big Double

Level 15 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Brian Rast had {q-Clubs}{q-Spades} tabled and the dealer was counting out his chips to settle the pot after Ryan Krajewski attempted the knockout with {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}. Rast was at risk for over 1,000,000 with the board showing {7-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Spades}. Rast's queens held to secure the big double as the tournament nears its final three tables.
