Set Over Set Rockets Scarpelli to the Top

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Action was picked up on the turn with the board showing {j-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{k-Spades} and Micah Scarpelli having more than 100,000 in the middle. A player on the button called all in for around 70,000.

The all-in player showed {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds} for a flopped set, but Scarpelli had hit a two-outer on the turn with {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds} to make a set of kings. The river came the {q-Hearts} and Scarpelli scored a knockout.

The eliminated player slowly rose from his seat before shaking Scarpelli's hand. "Nice hand," he said, mustering a smile despite the brutal knockout.

"You do the same thing with sixes or fives there? There's no way he can fold that," a tablemate asked Scarpelli after the hand.

"Set over set is one of the hardest things in poker," Scarpelli replied.

Two Pair Over Two Pair For Yamagishi

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

The board read {10-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} on the turn. Colten Yamagishi bet 2,200 and Jared Grenier called.

The river came the {a-Diamonds}. Yamagishi bet 5,000 and Grenier called after thinking for about 20 seconds.

Yamagishi showed the {10-Clubs}{2-Spades} for flopped two pair, Grenier gave a bemused smile and flashed the {6-}{2-} for a bested two pair.

On a completed board of {7-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{4-Spades} , Paulina Loeliger aka "Poker Bunny" was deep in thought after faced with a bet of 1,800 from Chad Burum.

"Can I see your stack, please?' she asked after some time.

"Sure," Burum chuckled as he lifted his arm to show that he covered Loeliger.

Then Loeliger put out a raise to 7,000 and Burum looked slightly confused.

"Ok, nice hand," he said as he put out calling chips.

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Michael Gathy opened to 800 on the button and received a single call out of the big blind.

The big blind checked to Gathy on a flop of {7-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{6-Spades} and he continued for 700. His opponent made the call to send the two players to the turn.

Action checked through the {7-Spades} turn to the {10-Hearts} river where the big blind checked for a third time. Gathy decided not to try and get his opponent off of his hand and checked back before mucking when the big blind showed down {q-Spades}{2-Spades} for the flopped top pair.

According to an observer, Thomas Muehloecker got his stack in from under the gun and was at risk against a player in middle position.

Thomas Muehloecker: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Middle Position: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}

Muehloecker ran kings into aces in the ultimate preflop cooler, but luckily for him, the board ran out four clubs to improve him to a flush and give him the fortunate double.

About 5,000 got into the pot before the {q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} flop hit the table. Action was heads-up between Amanda Botfeld in the hijack and Scott Ball in the cutoff.

After a bet and call of 8,000 on the flop, the {8-Hearts} came on the turn. Botfeld fired for 15,000, and Ball put in the call with a bit of hesitation.

On the {5-Clubs} river, Botfeld moved all in quickly, applying the pressure to Ball. After about a minute or so, Ball gave up his hand, giving the big pot to Botfled.

Heidorn Runs Into Spitzberg's Kings

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Tian Zhao Jiang had a raise of 4,800 in front of him before Paul Spitzberg reraised to 17,000. Robert Heidorn then moved all in for 19,500 and Jiang got out of the way after a brief tank. Spitzberg, though, called the extra amount and flipped over {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}.

Heidorn had {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs} and the {k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{10-Hearts} flop gave both players something, Spitzberg top set and Heidorn straight and flush draws. The board ran out {7-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} and Heidorn missed everything to hit the rail, while Spitzberg is now in contention for the tournament chip lead.

After the hand, Jiang claimed he folded pocket queens.

"Paul is rocking out right now," a tablemate said.
